- Support the React/TypeScript frontend by delivering well-documented, stable API contracts; contribute to frontend work as needed
- Containerize and operate the stack with Docker Compose (Postgres, Redis, backend, worker, frontend)
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack, from API to worker to data layer
- Communicate technical trade-offs effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- All other duties as required
For this role you will need
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with Python, React and frontend Javascript development
- Strong experience building web services / REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORMs (SQLAlchemy), including async patterns
- Experience with background job/queue processing and caching (Redis, Celery/arq, or similar)
- Experience containerizing and running applications with Docker / Docker Compose
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across an application stack
- Clear, effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams and business stakeholders
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in computer science or a related field
- Experience integrating LLM / GenAI APIs and building AI-driven application features
- Experience with React / TypeScript frontends
- Experience with authentication standards (OAuth2, SAML, JWT) in enterprise environments
- Exposure to PySpark or data-intensive Python workloads
- Prior experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated/compliance-sensitive domains

This role is based in our Durham, NC office. Currently this job is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office. In office requirements could increase based on business needs.
