Position Overview
Aberdeen Advisors is seeking experienced SAP Functional Consultants to provide hands-on, onsite support to business users during SAP deployments, go-live, Hypercare, and stabilization. In this role, you will work directly with end users to help them successfully navigate SAP transactions and execute day-to-day business processes. You will troubleshoot functional issues, reinforce training, document system and process challenges, and coordinate with functional and technical teams to drive timely resolution. The ideal candidate combines strong SAP functional knowledge with patience, adaptability, and a customer-focused approach. This position requires extensive travel and the flexibility to support changing deployment schedules and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on functional and end-user support during SAP go-live, Hypercare, and stabilization.
- Assist business users with SAP transactions and end-to-end processes within assigned functional areas.
- Troubleshoot functional and process-related issues and resolve or escalate them to the appropriate teams.
- Deliver real-time coaching and reinforce established training, procedures, and standard business processes.
- Translate technical or functional concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-technical users.
- Document issues, business impacts, temporary workarounds, actions taken, and final resolutions.
- Coordinate with Field Support leadership, functional consultants, technical teams, and site stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
- Monitor and identify recurring system issues, user-adoption challenges, process gaps, and operational risks.
- Support issue triage, prioritization, tracking, and follow-through during critical deployment periods.
- Help sites transition successfully from project deployment to steady-state production support.
- Provide feedback to project leadership regarding training needs, system usability, process compliance, and site readiness.
Required Qualifications
Functional experience in one or more SAP modules or business-process areas, including:
- SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)
- SAP Materials Management (MM)
- SAP Production Planning (PP)
- SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)
- SAP Transportation Management (TM)
- Related SAP S/4HANA capabilities
- Experience supporting SAP implementations, deployments, go-lives, Hypercare, stabilization, or production-support environments.
- Strong understanding of SAP transactions and the business processes within the assigned functional area.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to assess issues quickly and determine whether they require functional, technical, integration, data, or process support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent active-listening and customer-service skills.
- Ability to explain SAP processes clearly and confidently to non-technical users.
- Strong documentation, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to remain patient, composed, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
Travel and Scheduling Requirements
- Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively to client locations.
- Must be comfortable working onsite for extended deployment periods.
- Must maintain a flexible schedule based on deployment timelines, site needs, and business requirements.
- Availability may be required outside standard business hours during go-live, Hypercare, and stabilization periods.

- Previous experience providing onsite floor support or working as part of a go-live “SWAT” or field-support team.
