Green Card Android Developer Jobs
Android Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, where your employer documents that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Most Android Developer openings fall under SOC code 15-1252, which supports specialty occupation classification and strengthens your PERM filing.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Android Developer
Match your degree to SOC 15-1252
PERM and I-140 petitions for Android Developer roles map to SOC code 15-1252. A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field directly satisfies the specialty occupation requirement and reduces RFE risk.
Target employers with active PERM filings
Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify companies that have filed labor certifications for Android Developer or software developer roles in the past two years. Repeated PERM filings signal an established sponsorship process, not a one-off favor.
Find green card sponsors through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Android Developer jobs by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. Targeting companies that have already completed PERM for similar roles cuts the time you spend disqualifying employers who won't sponsor.
Ask about prevailing wage determination before signing
Before accepting an offer, confirm your employer will request a prevailing wage determination from OFLC. Your offered salary must meet or exceed that wage level, and mismatches discovered after filing create costly delays or denial risk.
Negotiate PERM timeline into your offer letter
EB-3 PERM processing runs six to twelve months before your employer can file the I-140 petition. Ask during negotiations for a written commitment to initiate PERM within your first year of employment, not just a verbal assurance.
Use O*NET to document your specialty occupation case
Pull the Android Developer or software developer occupation description from O*NET when preparing your PERM documentation. The education and training requirements listed there substantiate that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field.
Green Card Android Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Android Developer jobs typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Android Developer positions qualify for EB-3 as skilled workers or professionals, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. EB-2 is available if the role requires an advanced degree or if the candidate has advanced-degree credentials. Your employer's job description and your qualifications together determine which category applies.
How does green card sponsorship through PERM differ from H-1B sponsorship for Android Developers?
PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary work visa, and there's no annual lottery at the EB-3 level for most countries. The process takes longer overall, often two to four years from PERM filing to a green card, but it's not subject to H-1B visa cap limits or selection uncertainty. Your employer bears the filing costs and must conduct a formal recruitment test before PERM is filed.
What credentials should I have ready before an employer starts my PERM filing?
Gather your original degree certificates, transcripts, and any credential evaluation if your degree was earned outside the U.S. If your bachelor's degree is in a field adjacent to software development, a credential evaluation that maps your coursework to computer science strengthens the specialty occupation argument. Employment verification letters from prior Android Developer roles also support the I-140 petition that follows PERM approval.
How can I find Android Developer jobs where the employer is already set up to sponsor green cards?
Use Migrate Mate to search Android Developer roles filtered by employers with documented EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. Companies that have completed PERM labor certifications for software roles before have the internal process, legal counsel, and budget already in place, which significantly reduces the friction of negotiating sponsorship from scratch.
Can I switch Android Developer jobs while my green card application is pending?
Once your I-140 petition has been approved and your priority date is current or your case has been pending for 180 days or more, you may be able to port your green card to a new employer in a same or similar occupational classification under AC21 portability rules. Changing employers before those thresholds are met typically means restarting the PERM process with the new company.
