Green Card Cloud Platform Engineer Jobs
Cloud Platform Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which permanently ties your authorization to the role rather than a visa cycle. Employers in cloud infrastructure consistently file I-140 petitions for this specialty, making it one of the more sponsorship-active engineering categories.

Meet the team
Come join the Cloud Platform team. We build the data and telemetry foundation behind cloud-managed networking experiences for customers. Partner with passionate product teams and engineers who use our platform to deliver reliable, high-fidelity insights and capabilities. Work in a cross-functional environment spanning product management, engineering, data science, and design, with a collaborative, technically curious, and customer-focused vibe. Connect streaming telemetry infrastructure and data services to Meraki's broader cloud strategy, enabling internal teams to build differentiated customer experiences. Help shape a platform that is evolving to support the next generation of AI-driven and agentic networking.
Your impact
Define and own a multi-quarter roadmap for telemetry ingestion and data-platform capabilities to advance Meraki's cloud strategy. Lead planning and prioritization across engineering partners, balancing performance, scalability, reliability, customer needs, and market opportunities. Translate distributed-system constraints and data requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and measurable outcomes for high-availability, low-latency services. Build and evangelize APIs, tools, data structures, and access patterns that help internal product teams and future AI/ML capabilities use telemetry effectively. Measure success through platform reliability, latency, scale, adoption, and the customer experiences enabled by the platform.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Cloud Platform Engineer
Document your cloud credentials before applying
Gather degree transcripts, professional certifications like AWS or Azure, and employment verification letters now. PERM requires precise education and experience documentation, and gaps discovered during filing delay labor certification by months.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Cloud platform roles at infrastructure-heavy companies generate consistent PERM filings. Search DOL disclosure data to confirm an employer has filed for this occupation recently, not just for software engineers broadly.
Search green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Cloud Platform Engineer roles by employers actively sponsoring employment-based green cards, so you reach hiring teams already familiar with PERM and I-140 without sorting through listings that never mention sponsorship.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 with your hiring team
If your role requires a master's degree or you have at least ten years of specialized cloud experience, ask whether the employer will pursue EB-2. EB-3 is available for bachelor's-level candidates but the two categories can mean different priority date outcomes depending on your nationality.
Negotiate PERM initiation into your offer timeline
Ask the employer to start the prevailing wage determination with DOL and launch the PERM recruitment process within 90 days of your start date. Delays here push your priority date back and extend your overall green card timeline by a year or more.
Verify your job duties match the PERM job description
USCIS scrutinizes whether your actual daily work aligns with the certified PERM description. If your cloud platform responsibilities evolve after filing, work with the employer to assess whether an amended or new PERM petition is needed before adjustment of status.
Green Card Cloud Platform Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Cloud Platform Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories apply depending on your credentials and the employer's job requirements. EB-2 covers the role when it requires a master's degree or equivalent advanced expertise in cloud infrastructure. EB-3 covers bachelor's-level professionals. Most employers filing PERM for cloud platform positions use EB-2 when the job description demands specialized architecture or systems design knowledge.
How does the PERM green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization cycle. There is no annual lottery, and EB-3 has no numerical cap affecting most nationalities the way H-1B visa registration does. The trade-off is timeline: PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status typically take two to four years, compared to H-1B approval in a few months, but the outcome is a green card rather than a visa requiring renewal.
How can I find Cloud Platform Engineer jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Cloud Platform Engineer listings specifically by employers with employment-based green card sponsorship history, so you're not guessing from vague job descriptions. Targeting companies with confirmed PERM filing activity for this occupation saves months of outreach to employers who are unfamiliar with or unwilling to run the process.
What prevailing wage level typically applies to Cloud Platform Engineer PERM filings?
DOL assigns a prevailing wage level based on the job duties, required experience, and supervision level described in the PERM application. Cloud platform roles with independent architecture responsibilities often fall at Level III or IV. You can look up current wage determinations using the OFLC Wage Search tool to understand what wage the employer must certify before filing.
Can I change jobs after my employer files PERM but before I receive my green card?
Portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar occupational role after your I-140 is approved and your I-485 has been pending for 180 days or more. Cloud platform engineering roles generally fall under the same SOC code grouping, but the new employer and role need to match the general classification certified in the original PERM petition.
