Green Card Dental Hygienist Jobs
Dental Hygienist roles qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, and some advanced-practice candidates may qualify under EB-2. Employers file with the DOL and USCIS to sponsor you permanently. State licensure requirements and healthcare workforce shortages make sponsorship more common in this field than many applicants expect.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Dental Hygienist
Verify your credentials translate correctly
Foreign dental hygiene degrees vary in structure. Before applying, confirm your diploma and clinical hours align with U.S. accreditation standards, since PERM requires your employer to document that your foreign credentials meet the job's minimum requirements.
Target multi-location dental groups strategically
Large dental service organizations with multiple clinic locations have HR infrastructure to run PERM labor certification. They file for sponsorship more regularly than solo private practices, which often lack the legal and administrative resources to navigate the process.
Confirm state license eligibility before accepting offers
Green card sponsorship stalls if you can't get licensed in the state where the job is. Check whether your foreign dental hygiene training satisfies that state's board requirements, since requirements vary significantly across states.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers with green card filing history
Searching broadly wastes time on employers who have never sponsored. Migrate Mate surfaces Dental Hygienist roles at employers with documented green card sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications where PERM is already a known process.
Understand what the PERM recruitment audit means for your timeline
DOL requires your employer to complete mandatory recruitment steps before filing PERM. This process typically takes six to twelve months before your I-140 can even be submitted, so factor that into your current visa expiration planning.
Check the prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wage tiers for Dental Hygienists in your target city before you negotiate, so your offer satisfies PERM requirements from day one.
Green Card Dental Hygienist: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Dental Hygienist roles commonly qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Dental Hygienist is classified as a skilled worker role under EB-3, and DOL and USCIS both recognize it as a specialty requiring specific post-secondary education and licensure. Healthcare workforce shortages in many states mean some employers are willing to sponsor, particularly multi-location dental groups and federally qualified health centers that have existing immigration infrastructure.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Dental Hygienists?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary work visa. There is no annual lottery, and EB-3 has no cap that affects most nationalities in the near term. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status typically take two to four years from start to finish, significantly longer than an H-1B visa.
What credentials do I need before a U.S. employer can sponsor me?
You need a dental hygiene degree from an accredited program and a valid state dental hygiene license in the state where you'll work. For PERM purposes, your employer will document that your foreign degree is equivalent to a U.S. associate or bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. A credential evaluation from a recognized foreign credential evaluation service strengthens this documentation considerably.
Where can I find Dental Hygienist jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for employment-based green card searches. It surfaces Dental Hygienist roles at employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history, so you're not guessing whether an employer has sponsored before. Filtering by sponsorship history removes employers who list jobs without any infrastructure to run the PERM process.
Can my employer start PERM while I'm on a work visa in the United States?
Yes. Your employer can begin the PERM labor certification process while you're maintaining valid status on an H-1B, TN visa, or O-1 visa. PERM does not affect your current nonimmigrant status, and filing early is advisable since your priority date is set when USCIS receives your I-140, not when PERM is filed. Starting PERM as early as possible protects you against future visa complications.
