Green Card Financial Accountant Jobs
Financial Accountant roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing your I-140 immigrant petition. Your CPA credential or advanced accounting degree strengthens eligibility across both categories.

About the Team
The Financial Operations (FinOps) team at Nomad powers the core of our business: guaranteed owner payments. FinOps works closely with customer success, sales, engineering, product, and other teams across the org to deliver our mission of unlocking economic opportunity for everyone in the long-term rental community. As our company grows and changes, so do our procedures. As part of this team, you'll partner with our Finance Operations team to develop those processes and witness the real-time impact they have on Nomad.
About the Role
We're looking for a Bookkeeping Operations Specialist who's excited to support Nomad's day-to-day operational accounting and who gets energized, not rattled, when processes change. Our systems, workflows, and priorities evolve constantly as we grow, and we need someone who can hold real accounting fundamentals in one hand and genuine comfort with ambiguity in the other. If you've only ever worked in one system, one process, one way of doing things, this probably isn't your role. But if you're a person with a desire for an unconventional path in accounting, who picks up new tools fast, and who'd rather build the process than just follow it, we want to talk to you!
In the Role, You'll
- Conduct day-to-day bookkeeping in AppFolio, including rent advances, check processing, and security deposit returns
- Handle internal accounting requests (issuing concessions, refunding tenants, etc.)
- Respond to owner and tenant accounting inquiries
- Assist with move-outs, delinquencies, owner payments, and bank reconciliations
- Use reports to investigate financial discrepancies
- Improve bookkeeping accuracy and help evolve our processes as we scale
Who You Are
Experience: We care more about what you can actually do than how many years you've clocked. That could look like a couple of years of hands-on small-business or freelance bookkeeping, a longer stretch of customer-facing work paired with self-taught accounting skills, or something in between.
Required skills:
- General accounting/bookkeeping literacy
- High attention to detail, particularly as it relates to numbers
- Nimbleness: genuine comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Critical thinking to problem-solve operational issues and evolve processes
- An ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
- A deep curiosity to ask questions, learn new things, and be open to feedback
- Comfortable using AI and other resources to research answers and self-direct
Some software experience that would be a plus:
- Property management software (AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi, etc.)
- AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- GSuite software (specifically Google Sheets)
- Accounting or bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, BILL, Stripe, etc.)
- CRM experience (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
Bonus prior work experience:
- Start-up environment experience
- Property management experience
- Customer service experience
- Bookkeeper, Collections Specialist, Associate Banker, or similar
Where You'll Be
This is a hybrid position and you would need to come to our downtown Denver office 3 times a week, or more if you like! We are surrounded by other tech companies, coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants.
Potential pay range: $28 – $36 / hour
Our Values:
- Nomads Build Community: We foster genuine relationships and act as dependable stewards of our community.
- One Percent Better Every Day: We are always learning, taking small, deliberate actions to continuously improve.
- Mission Before Ourselves: We’re a championship team driven to make our customers’ lives better.
- Act From Ownership: We roll up our sleeves, solve problems proactively, and take responsibility for our work.
- Dream Without Boundaries: We challenge the status quo and strive to achieve the extraordinary.
Benefits at Nomad
We believe in supporting our team with benefits that enhance your life, both inside and outside of work.
- Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Plans: Comprehensive coverage to keep you and your family healthy.
- Team Bonding Outings and Volunteer Days: Opportunities to connect and give back to the community.
- Dog-Friendly Office: Because we know pets are family too!
- Paid Company Holidays
- Company Equity: Become a part owner of Nomad and share in our success.
- Short-Term & Long-Term Disability: Supporting you when life throws curveballs.
- MacBook: Plus, an equipment budget to set you up for success.
- Sick, Parental, and Generous Paid Time Off: Work-life balance matters to us.
- Anniversary Rewards: Celebrate milestones with rewards ranging from paid yearly events to a 4-week sabbatical.
- Discounted Employee Brokerage Rates: Helping you buy or sell a home with ease.
Compensation Transparency
At Nomad, we are committed to offering competitive compensation that reflects the value each team member brings to our mission. Salary ranges for this role are determined based on factors such as experience, skills, location, and role expectations. Final offers may vary from the posted range, ensuring fair and equitable consideration for every candidate.

Match your credentials to the right EB category
A master's degree in accounting or finance positions you for EB-2, while a bachelor's degree with relevant experience satisfies EB-3. Confirm which category your employer plans to file under before accepting an offer, since the PERM job requirements must match your actual credentials.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications for accountant and financial analyst roles. Firms with recent certified applications have already run the recruitment process, which signals a faster, more predictable sponsorship path for you.
Prepare your foreign credential evaluation early
If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., get a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-recognized evaluator before applying. PERM job requirements specify U.S. equivalency, and delays in evaluation documents can stall your I-140 filing by weeks.
Find green-card-sponsoring accounting roles through Migrate Mate
Filter by job title and green card sponsorship intent on Migrate Mate to surface Financial Accountant openings at employers actively running PERM cases. This cuts the research time of manually reviewing OFLC disclosure files by employer and role.
Ask about the PERM recruitment timeline during interviews
PERM requires the employer to complete DOL-mandated recruitment steps before filing, which typically adds several months before your I-140 can be submitted. Confirm whether the employer has already started or plans to begin recruitment so you can set realistic expectations for your green card timeline.
Understand how concurrent filing affects your status
If your priority date is current when the employer files your I-140, you can file Form I-485 for adjustment of status at the same time. For Financial Accountants from high-backlog countries, concurrent filing locks in your priority date and preserves your place in the queue.
Green Card Financial Accountant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Financial Accountant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
It can qualify for either, depending on the employer's job requirements and your credentials. EB-3 covers Financial Accountants with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or if you hold a master's and the employer documents that requirement in the PERM application. Your CPA license does not automatically trigger EB-2 but strengthens your overall profile.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status capped at 85,000 registrations annually with a lottery. EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual lottery and leads to permanent residency, but the PERM labor certification process adds significant time upfront, typically six months to over a year before your I-140 is filed. The payoff is permanence: once your green card is approved, your status is no longer tied to a single employer or a visa renewal cycle.
How long does the PERM process take for a Financial Accountant position?
The employer must complete DOL-mandated recruitment steps, which typically takes three to six months, before submitting the PERM application. DOL processing currently runs several additional months depending on whether the case requires an audit. After PERM certification, the employer files your I-140 with USCIS. From start to green card approval, the full process commonly spans two to three years, longer if your country has a priority-date backlog.
What documents should I prepare before a Financial Accountant employer files PERM?
Gather your academic transcripts, degree certificates with certified translations if applicable, and a NACES-recognized foreign credential evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. Also compile employment verification letters covering any experience the employer's PERM job requirements reference. USCIS will require these at the I-140 stage, and having them ready prevents delays when the employer is ready to file.
How can I find Financial Accountant jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Standard job searches rarely surface which employers are actively running PERM cases. Migrate Mate lets you filter Financial Accountant roles by green card sponsorship intent, surfacing employers with documented EB-2 and EB-3 filing history. That filtering step replaces manually cross-referencing DOL OFLC disclosure data, which covers all certified PERM applications but requires significant time to parse by role and employer.
