Housekeeping Green Card Jobs
Housekeeping roles in hotels, hospitals, and residential facilities can qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process when employers demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Some supervisory or facilities management positions may meet EB-2 criteria. Finding an employer willing to file is the critical first step.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Housekeeping
Verify your occupation's PERM wage tier
Housekeeping roles are typically classified under SOC code 37-2012. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the prevailing wage level your employer must certify before PERM recruitment begins, so you can negotiate salary alignment early.
Target lodging and healthcare employers first
Hotels, hospital systems, and senior care facilities sponsor housekeeping staff more frequently than other sectors because chronic turnover makes domestic recruitment demonstrably difficult, which is exactly the labor market test PERM requires employers to pass.
Document your specialized training and certifications
Gather records of any EPA-compliant chemical handling certifications, infection control training, or OSHA safety credentials before approaching employers. These credentials strengthen the employer's PERM petition by narrowing the qualifying worker definition.
Search for green card sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Filter Migrate Mate's job listings specifically for housekeeping positions where employers have active EB-3 sponsorship history. This saves weeks of outreach to employers who have never filed PERM and aren't likely to start.
Understand how PERM recruitment timelines affect your start date
DOL requires employers to complete a specific recruitment period, typically 30 to 180 days, before submitting the PERM application. Factor this into your job offer negotiations so both you and the employer align on realistic start and sponsorship dates.

Find Housekeeping JobsHousekeeping Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Can a housekeeping job qualify for an employment-based green card?
Yes. Housekeeping roles most commonly qualify under the EB-3 skilled worker or unskilled worker category, depending on whether the position requires at least two years of training or experience. Your employer sponsors you by filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS. The process leads to lawful permanent residency, not a temporary status.
How does the green card process for housekeeping differ from an H-1B?
The H-1B requires a specialty occupation and a bachelor's degree, which most housekeeping roles don't meet. EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM has no annual lottery and no degree requirement for the skilled worker subcategory. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM plus I-140 plus adjustment of status typically takes two to four years for most nationalities, compared to H-1B's faster approval but temporary status.
Which employers actually sponsor housekeeping workers for green cards?
Hotels, hospital networks, university facilities departments, and large senior living operators are the most consistent sponsors because they employ housekeeping staff at scale and face documented difficulty filling positions long-term. Smaller independent properties rarely have the HR infrastructure to manage PERM. Use Migrate Mate to identify employers who have verifiable EB-3 sponsorship history in the hospitality and healthcare sectors.
What does the PERM labor market test mean for housekeeping applicants?
Before PERM can be filed, your employer must advertise the housekeeping position through DOL-mandated channels, including job postings and sometimes newspaper ads, and document that no qualified U.S. worker applied. The job description must match the duties you'll actually perform. If the employer tailors the posting too closely to your specific credentials, DOL can audit or deny the application.
Does my nationality affect how long the EB-3 green card process takes?
Yes, significantly. Applicants from countries with high demand, such as India and China, face multi-year backlogs because of per-country annual limits on green card numbers. Nationals from most other countries currently face shorter waits under EB-3. Check the monthly Visa Bulletin published by USCIS to see the current priority date cutoffs for your country before accepting a sponsorship offer.
