Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Implementation Engineer
Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
PERM requires the offered role to demand a specific degree, not just any bachelor's. Document how your implementation work requires a computer science, information systems, or engineering background, not general technical aptitude.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find employers who have filed PERM applications for implementation or systems integration titles. Repeated filings signal an established internal sponsorship process, not a one-off commitment.
Search for green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Implementation Engineer jobs by employers actively sponsoring EB-2 and EB-3 green cards, so you skip manually researching PERM histories across dozens of enterprise software companies.
Understand the EB-3 timeline before accepting an offer
EB-3 green card timelines depend on your birth country and the current DOL visa bulletin priority dates. Nationals from most countries outside India and China face wait times under two years at the EB-3 level.
Negotiate PERM initiation timing during the offer stage
PERM recruiting can take six to twelve months before the I-140 is even filed. Ask your prospective employer at the offer stage when they will begin the process, not after your first performance review.
Verify your employer is enrolled in E-Verify before signing
USCIS requires I-485 filers to have an employer actively verifying employment authorization. Confirm your offer company is enrolled in E-Verify, particularly if they have under 50 employees and limited prior sponsorship experience.

Find Implementation Engineer JobsImplementation Engineer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Implementation Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories apply depending on how the employer defines the position. EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science or information systems. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or when the candidate has a bachelor's plus five or more years of progressive specialized experience. The employer's job description and PERM application language determine which category fits.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary, capped annually, and subject to a lottery for most applicants. Green card sponsorship through PERM and an I-140 leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities. The tradeoff is time: the PERM process alone takes six to eighteen months before USCIS even adjudicates the I-140 petition. Once your priority date is current, you file I-485 to adjust status without reapplying from scratch.
What does a PERM labor certification require from the employer for this role?
DOL requires the employer to conduct a supervised recruitment campaign proving no minimally qualified U.S. worker was available for the Implementation Engineer position at the offered location. This includes job postings, newspaper advertisements, and internal review of all applicants. The employer must document each rejected U.S. applicant with a lawful, job-related reason. PERM approval confirms the employer met this test before USCIS reviews the I-140.
How can I find Implementation Engineer jobs where the employer is already set up to sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search Implementation Engineer roles filtered by employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history, so you're applying to companies that have already run PERM campaigns rather than pitching the process cold to HR teams unfamiliar with the filings.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved but before I receive my green card?
Yes. Under AC21 portability rules, once your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days, you can move to a new employer in the same or a similar occupational classification without losing your priority date. Implementation Engineer roles share SOC codes with adjacent systems integration and deployment titles, so a lateral move often qualifies. Your immigration attorney should confirm portability eligibility before you resign.
