Verify your degree aligns with PERM requirements
PERM requires your foreign degree to match the job's minimum education requirement. A three-year bachelor's degree from India or Australia may need a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency before your employer files the labor certification.
Target employers with active EB-3 filing history
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for Information Systems Analyst roles. Employers already familiar with the labor certification process move faster and make fewer procedural errors that cause delays.
Search green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Information Systems Analyst jobs by employers who actively sponsor employment-based green cards, so you're not applying blindly to companies that won't support permanent residency from day one.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility before accepting an offer
If your role requires only a bachelor's degree, most employers will file under EB-3. Candidates with a master's degree or documented specialized expertise may qualify under EB-2, which can matter significantly for priority date backlogs if you were born in India or China.
Ask employers about concurrent I-485 filing timelines
Once USCIS approves your I-140 and a visa number is current for your country and preference category, you can file for adjustment of status. Confirm your prospective employer's experience with concurrent filing, since this step determines when you can actually work without visa restrictions.
Document your systems analysis work for the PERM audit trail
DOL audits increasingly request evidence that the job description matches your actual duties. Keep records of systems requirements you've written, integration projects you've led, and tools you've used, so your employer can respond to a PERM audit without delays.

Find Information Systems Analyst JobsInformation Systems Analyst Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Information Systems Analyst role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Information Systems Analyst positions qualify under EB-3 as a professional role requiring at least a bachelor's degree. If the position requires a master's degree or you have a master's plus specialized credentials, your employer may be able to file under EB-2 instead. The category your employer selects affects your priority date and wait time based on your country of birth.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary status requiring renewal every three years with no path to permanence on its own. Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to lawful permanent residency. There is no annual lottery for employment-based green cards at the EB-3 level, and once your I-140 is approved, that priority date is locked in even if you change employers using portability rules under AC21.
How long does the PERM labor certification process take for Information Systems Analyst jobs?
The PERM process currently averages over 18 months from the time your employer begins recruitment through DOL certification, though audit cases take longer. After certification, your employer files an I-140 with USCIS. If you were born in India or China, the wait for a visa number to become current can extend total green card timelines significantly beyond the initial filing period.
How can I find Information Systems Analyst jobs where employers will sponsor a green card?
Most job postings don't specify green card sponsorship clearly, which makes filtering difficult on general platforms. Migrate Mate is built specifically for employment-based green card job searches, letting you filter Information Systems Analyst roles by employers who actively support EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship, so you're targeting companies that have already committed to the PERM process.
Can I switch employers after my green card process has started?
Yes, if your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and your I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days, you can change to a same or similar Information Systems Analyst role at a new employer under AC21 portability rules without losing your priority date. USCIS determines whether the new role qualifies as sufficiently similar based on duties and O*NET job zone classification.
