Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Orthotist
Target ABC-certified employers first
Facilities that already employ ABC-credentialed orthotists understand the profession's licensing requirements and are more likely to have HR infrastructure for PERM sponsorship. Rehabilitation networks and large hospital systems are your strongest starting point.
Search green card sponsoring jobs on Migrate Mate
Filter by orthotist roles with documented EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have filed PERM labor certifications for orthotists, so you're not guessing which facilities will sponsor.
Understand how OFLC prevailing wage affects your offer
Before accepting an offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for orthotists in that metro area. Your offered salary must meet or exceed this figure, or DOL will reject the PERM certification.
Ask employers about EB-2 versus EB-3 classification
If you hold a master's degree or a bachelor's plus significant clinical specialization, push for EB-2 classification. EB-2 priority dates are often earlier for many countries, which can meaningfully shorten your wait for a green card.
File your I-140 concurrently with PERM if eligible
Once your employer's PERM is certified by DOL, concurrent I-140 filing can lock in your priority date faster. Confirm with your employer's immigration counsel whether premium processing on the I-140 makes sense for your timeline.

Find Orthotist JobsOrthotist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do orthotist roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most orthotist positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree plus clinical training and state licensure. If you hold a master's degree in orthotics and prosthetics, your employer may file under EB-2 instead. The classification depends on the specific job duties and your credentials, which the PERM labor certification documents formally for DOL.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for orthotists?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary and subject to an annual lottery cap, while employment-based green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no lottery. EB-3 has no annual cap on petitions filed, though visa number availability varies by country of birth. The PERM process takes longer upfront, typically one to two years from start to green card approval, but the outcome is permanent status rather than a renewable temporary visa.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for orthotist employers?
Your employer must conduct a formal DOL-supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the orthotist role at the offered wage. This includes placing job ads in specific formats and timeframes, documenting all applicants reviewed, and submitting the PERM application through the FLAG system. If DOL certifies the application, your employer proceeds to file your I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS.
How can I find orthotist jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters orthotist roles by employers with verified EB-2 or EB-3 PERM filing history. Generic job boards don't distinguish between employers willing to sponsor green cards and those offering only temporary visa support. Targeting employers with an established sponsorship track record for clinical roles reduces the risk of offers that stall at the PERM stage.
Does state licensure affect my green card eligibility as a foreign-trained orthotist?
State licensure isn't a direct USCIS requirement for the I-140, but it affects PERM because your employer must describe the actual job requirements, which include state licensure in most states. If you aren't yet licensed in the state where the job is located, discuss a conditional start date with your employer. USCIS evaluates whether your foreign credentials meet the specialty occupation standard under O*NET job zone classifications for orthotists.
