Strategy Consultant Green Card Jobs
Strategy Consultant roles qualify for EB-2 sponsorship when the position requires an advanced degree in business, economics, or a related field, and EB-3 when a bachelor's degree suffices. Employers initiate PERM labor certification through DOL before filing the I-140 petition, making proactive sponsorship conversations essential early in your job search.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Strategy Consultant
Frame your credentials for PERM requirements
PERM requires your education to match the job's stated minimum. Ensure your degree transcripts and any foreign credential evaluations clearly establish equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's or master's in business, strategy, or a related field before applying.
Target consulting firms with established PERM pipelines
Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify which consulting employers have filed certifications for Strategy Consultant roles recently. Firms with consistent PERM history already have immigration counsel and internal processes, reducing the friction of sponsorship conversations.
Verify the specialty occupation definition applies
EB-2 eligibility depends on the role genuinely requiring an advanced degree, not just preferring one. Review the O*NET occupation profile for management analysts and strategy roles to confirm the degree requirement is standard across the industry before pursuing EB-2 filings.
Search for sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Strategy Consultant roles by employers actively offering green card sponsorship. The platform surfaces verified EB-2 and EB-3 opportunities so you spend less time cold-prospecting firms with no sponsorship history.
Raise sponsorship timing before accepting an offer
PERM labor certification typically takes 12 to 18 months, and I-140 adjudication adds more time. Clarify whether the employer will initiate PERM within your first year of employment, and get that commitment documented before you sign an offer letter.
Use the OFLC Wage Search before salary negotiations
PERM filings require the employer to pay the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search yourself so you know the floor before negotiating, ensuring any offer is structurally compatible with a future green card filing.

Find Strategy Consultant JobsStrategy Consultant Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Strategy Consultant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Strategy Consultant positions typically qualify for EB-2 when the employer's job requirements specify an advanced degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field. If the minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree, EB-3 is the applicable category. The distinction matters because EB-2 and EB-3 follow different priority date queues, which directly affects how long you wait for a green card depending on your country of birth.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status with a two-to-three year initial period and no guaranteed path to permanency. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to lawful permanent residency. There is no annual cap lottery at the EB-3 level for most countries, which eliminates the H-1B selection uncertainty. The trade-off is a longer overall timeline, as PERM certification alone can take 12 to 18 months before the I-140 is even filed.
What does the PERM labor certification process look like for consulting firms?
Your employer files an ETA Form 9089 with DOL after completing a mandatory recruitment period to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. For Strategy Consultant positions, the job duties and minimum requirements on the PERM application must match your actual role. Any discrepancy between the filed position and your day-to-day work can jeopardize the certification, so close coordination with your employer's immigration counsel is essential from the start.
How can I find Strategy Consultant jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Standard job postings rarely specify whether an employer will initiate PERM. Migrate Mate lets you filter Strategy Consultant roles by employers with active green card sponsorship history, removing the guesswork of reaching out to firms with no track record of EB filings. Targeting employers who have already sponsored similar roles significantly shortens the sponsorship conversation when you get to the offer stage.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved but before I get my green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability provisions, you can change employers after your I-140 has been approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for 180 days or more, provided the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. For Strategy Consultant roles, this typically means the new position must involve comparable duties. You should notify USCIS of the employer change and document the occupational similarity carefully.
