Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Technical Account Manager
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
EB-2 eligibility for TAM roles depends on demonstrating that the position requires an advanced degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's. Document how your engineering, computer science, or business degree directly underpins the technical advisory work you do.
Target employers with active PERM filing histories
Not every company that hires TAMs sponsors green cards. Filter your search to employers with documented PERM certification activity in DOL disclosure data, which shows whether a company has navigated the labor certification process for comparable technical roles before.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring TAM employers
Searching broadly wastes time when sponsorship is your filter. Migrate Mate surfaces Technical Account Manager openings specifically at employers with green card sponsorship history, letting you focus applications on companies already familiar with the EB-2 and EB-3 processes.
Verify your role qualifies under PERM job requirements
PERM requires the employer to define minimum job requirements before recruitment begins. Confirm your TAM offer specifies a degree requirement tied to the role, not just preferred qualifications, because DOL will scrutinize whether the listed requirements match what the position genuinely needs.
Raise green card timing before accepting an offer
EB-3 PERM timelines run 12 to 24 months before an I-140 petition is even filed. Negotiating a start date, role title, and sponsorship commitment during the offer stage prevents misalignment later, especially if your employer has never managed a PERM recruitment process for a TAM before.
Benchmark your wage against OFLC prevailing wage levels
PERM requires your employer to pay at least the prevailing wage DOL sets for your TAM role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search before your offer stage to confirm your compensation meets Level II or III thresholds, which avoids a wage-based denial after months of recruitment.
Green Card Technical Account Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Account Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most TAM positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship as skilled workers when they require a bachelor's degree in a related field like computer science, engineering, or business. EB-2 applies if the role genuinely requires an advanced degree or the candidate holds one and the employer can document that requirement in the PERM job description.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for TAM roles?
Green card sponsorship via PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status requiring renewal. Unlike H-1B visa, there's no annual lottery at the EB-3 level for most countries, so sponsorship isn't subject to random selection. The tradeoff is timeline: EB-3 PERM plus I-140 plus adjustment of status typically takes two to four years, compared to H-1B approval in a few months.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for Technical Account Manager hires?
Your employer must conduct a formal DOL-supervised recruitment effort proving no qualified U.S. workers are available for the TAM role at the offered wage. This includes job postings, internal notices, and documented review of all applicants. Only after DOL certifies the PERM can the employer file your I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS.
Where can I find Technical Account Manager jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by sponsorship type, so you'll spend significant time applying to roles where sponsorship isn't actually on the table. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, surfacing TAM openings at employers with documented green card sponsorship activity so you can target your applications more effectively.
Can I switch employers during the green card process if I'm in a TAM role?
Changing employers typically restarts the PERM process because labor certification is tied to a specific employer and job offer. If your I-140 has been approved for over 180 days and you're in adjustment of status, portability rules under AC21 may allow a move to a similar TAM role without losing your priority date, but the new role must be in the same or similar occupational classification.
