H-1B Visa Digital Media Buyer Jobs
Digital Media Buyer roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field. Employers in this space actively file LCAs with the DOL, and the 85,000-slot annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Digital Media Buyer
Match your degree to the role
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the job duties. A marketing, communications, or advertising degree maps cleanly to Digital Media Buyer. A general business degree may trigger an RFE if your coursework doesn't include media planning or advertising.
Check employer LCA history before applying
Use Migrate Mate to filter Digital Media Buyer roles by verified DOL Labor Condition Application filings. This confirms the employer has already gone through the H-1B sponsorship process for this occupation, not just for engineers.
Look up prevailing wage before negotiating
Run your target job title and metro area through the OFLC Wage Search before your offer call. Your employer must pay at least the prevailing wage, so knowing the DOL wage level helps you evaluate whether an offer is compliant, not just competitive.
Clarify programmatic and platform experience in your resume
O*NET classifies Digital Media Buyers under advertising and promotions. Listing specific demand-side platforms, campaign management tools, and measurable outcomes strengthens the specialty occupation argument your employer will need to make in the H-1B petition.
Ask about E-Verify enrollment during the offer stage
Employers must be E-Verify enrolled to sponsor H-1B workers and to qualify for STEM-related cap-exempt filings. Confirm this before you accept an offer. An employer that isn't enrolled yet will need to register before USCIS accepts the petition.
Plan for the 60-day grace period between roles
If you're transferring from a current H-1B employer, you have a 60-day grace period after your last day to secure a new petition. Request your new employer file as soon as the offer is signed so processing doesn't eat into that window.

Find Digital Media Buyer JobsDigital Media Buyer H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Media Buyer role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as marketing, advertising, communications, or a closely aligned discipline. USCIS evaluates the job description, not just the title. Roles that rely primarily on platform experience without degree requirements can face scrutiny, so the employer's offer letter and LCA must clearly articulate the educational requirement.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Digital Media Buyer positions?
Advertising agencies, large brand marketing teams, and performance-focused media companies are the most active filers for this occupation. Migrate Mate filters Digital Media Buyer listings by verified DOL Labor Condition Application history, so you can identify employers who have already sponsored this role rather than approaching companies with no H-1B track record in advertising.
How does the H-1B cap affect my timeline as a Digital Media Buyer?
The annual H-1B cap is 85,000 slots, with registration opening each March for an April lottery. If selected, your petition can be filed for an October 1 start date. If you're currently on OPT or STEM OPT, your cap-gap protection extends your authorization through that October start, but you'll want your offer locked in well before the March registration window.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Digital Media Buyer role at a different employer?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new employer as soon as they file a new petition, without waiting for approval, provided you've maintained valid status. The new employer files an I-129 with a new LCA covering the specific Digital Media Buyer duties and the prevailing wage for your metro area. The 60-day grace period applies if there's a gap between positions.
What wage level should I expect an employer to certify on the LCA for this role?
The DOL assigns wage levels 1 through 4 based on experience, complexity, and supervisory responsibilities. Entry-level buyers typically fall at Level 1 or 2. Mid-level roles managing significant budgets or teams often land at Level 3. You can verify the prevailing wage for your specific job title and location using the OFLC Wage Search before negotiations begin.
