Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Market Research Analyst
Align your degree to the role
USCIS approves H-1B petitions for Market Research Analysts when your degree field directly relates to the position. A statistics, economics, or marketing degree strengthens the specialty occupation argument. A general business degree may require a stronger job description to avoid an RFE.
Verify prevailing wage before negotiating
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the Level I through IV prevailing wage for SOC code 19-3021 in your target metro. Your offer must meet or exceed that figure, and the employer certifies it on the LCA before filing your H-1B petition.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Market Research Analyst roles by employers who have filed LCAs for this occupation code. That filing history signals the employer understands H-1B sponsorship, which shortens the internal approval process on your end.
Confirm your employer is E-Verify enrolled
USCIS requires H-1B employers to be enrolled in E-Verify. Ask your recruiter early, not after an offer. Some mid-size research consultancies and boutique agencies have never sponsored before and will need to enroll before they can file your petition.
Request premium processing if your start date is tight
Standard H-1B adjudication can run several months. If your OPT expires close to October 1 or your employer needs you onboarded quickly, ask the employer to file Form I-907 for premium processing, which USCIS targets for a 15-business-day decision.
Document any quantitative research outputs
Strong H-1B petitions for analysts include proof the role requires specialized knowledge. Compile examples of statistical models, survey methodologies, or proprietary research reports you authored. These help the employer write a job description that clearly meets the specialty occupation standard.

Find Market Research Analyst JobsMarket Research Analyst H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Market Research Analyst role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the employer requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as market research, statistics, economics, or marketing. USCIS evaluates the job description, not just the title. Roles framed around data collection or general coordination without a specific degree requirement are more likely to receive an RFE, so the offer letter and petition language both matter.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Market Research Analysts?
Employers across consumer goods, pharmaceutical companies, financial services firms, healthcare systems, and technology companies regularly file LCAs for Market Research Analyst roles. Research consultancies and market intelligence firms also sponsor, though smaller agencies may need to enroll in E-Verify for the first time. Browse Migrate Mate to find roles filtered by employers who have active LCA filing history for this occupation.
How does the H-1B lottery affect a Market Research Analyst job search?
H-1B petitions for most Market Research Analyst positions are subject to the annual 85,000-slot cap, which USCIS fills through a lottery each April for an October 1 start date. That means your job search timeline should target offers secured by late February or early March so your employer can file during the registration window. Roles at universities or nonprofits may be cap-exempt.
Can I use my OPT period to transition into an H-1B as a Market Research Analyst?
Yes. If you're working as a Market Research Analyst on OPT and your employer sponsors your H-1B petition in the April filing window, your authorization continues under cap-gap rules if your OPT expires before October 1. A STEM OPT extension, available if your degree is in a qualifying field like statistics or data analytics, gives you up to 24 additional months and a second lottery attempt.
What does the prevailing wage requirement mean for my Market Research Analyst offer?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer must submit an LCA to the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for Market Research Analysts in your work location. The DOL uses Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data and assigns a level based on experience. Your offer must match or exceed that level, so reviewing the OFLC Wage Search for your metro area before finalizing negotiations helps you spot any gaps early.
