Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and supervisory gaming management. A hospitality management, business administration, or gaming operations degree strengthens the specialty occupation argument. A general studies degree will likely trigger an RFE.
Pull LCA data before applying anywhere
Use Migrate Mate to filter Table Games Supervisor roles by employers with verified LCA filing history. This eliminates properties that list jobs publicly but have never filed for H-1B workers, saving you weeks of dead-end outreach.
Target tribal and commercial casino operators separately
Tribal gaming enterprises operate under different regulatory frameworks than commercial casinos and some are exempt from certain federal employment laws. Confirm whether a tribal employer is E-Verify enrolled before accepting an offer, since USCIS requires E-Verify compliance for H-1B employers in some contexts.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your specific location and job level. Run the OFLC Wage Search using SOC code 39-1013 before your offer negotiation so you know the wage floor your employer is legally required to meet.
Document supervisory scope clearly in your offer letter
USCIS scrutinizes gaming supervisor petitions because front-line casino work is not inherently a specialty occupation. Your offer letter should specify the number of direct reports, budgetary authority, and any analytical or compliance duties that distinguish the role from a dealer or pit boss position.
File I-129 with premium processing if your start date is fixed
Casino floor schedules and gaming license timelines often have hard start dates. Standard USCIS processing can run several months, so if your employer sets a firm onboarding date, request premium processing on the I-129 petition to get a decision within 15 business days.

Find Table Games Supervisor JobsTable Games Supervisor H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Table Games Supervisor role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It can, but the petition requires careful framing. USCIS evaluates whether the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A supervisor position with clear analytical, compliance, or management responsibilities tied to a hospitality or business degree is defensible. A role that primarily involves watching dealers and enforcing house rules is harder to classify as a specialty occupation and carries a higher RFE risk.
Which casino employers actually sponsor H-1B visas for this role?
Large integrated resort operators and corporate casino groups are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for gaming management roles. Tribal casinos vary significantly: some have robust immigration programs and others have never filed an LCA. Use Migrate Mate to browse Table Games Supervisor openings filtered by verified DOL LCA filing history so you're only pursuing employers with an actual sponsorship track record.
Does my gaming experience in another country count toward the specialty occupation requirement?
Foreign work experience can substitute for formal education under the three-for-one rule: three years of specialized gaming management experience can replace one year of a bachelor's degree. If you have significant international casino supervisory experience but a non-matching degree, your employer's immigration attorney can structure the petition around equivalency, but you'll need detailed employment verification letters from each prior employer documenting your specific duties.
Will a state gaming license affect my H-1B application or timeline?
State gaming licenses are issued separately from USCIS approval and the timelines don't always align. Some states require proof of lawful employment authorization before issuing a gaming license, while others issue a provisional license pending background checks. Your employer's HR team should coordinate the gaming license application with the H-1B filing so neither process creates a gap in your ability to work on the floor legally.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a different casino employer after approval?
Yes. Under H-1B portability, you can begin working for a new casino employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, provided your original H-1B was approved and you've maintained valid status. The new employer must file a fresh I-129 and LCA specific to their property and your role there. Because gaming supervisor duties and wage levels vary by property, the transfer petition can't simply reference the original filing.
