Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Procurement Manager
Translate your credentials into U.S. frameworks
Pull your O*NET occupation profile for Procurement Managers to see exactly how U.S. employers define the role. Map your Singapore qualifications and CIPS or CSCP certifications against those benchmarks before your first interview.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating
Run your target job title and work location through the OFLC Wage Search before you accept an offer. Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage, so knowing the floor protects you during salary negotiations.
Search H-1B1 Singapore jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter procurement roles by employers with H-1B1 Singapore visa filing history. That filing record tells you which companies already understand the consular process and won't treat sponsorship as a reason to stall an offer.
Target employers with global supply chains
Multinational manufacturers, technology companies, and logistics firms with Asia-Pacific sourcing operations are most likely to see your Singapore procurement experience as an operational asset, not just a hiring complication, and to have HR teams familiar with visa sponsorship.
Clarify LCA timing with your prospective employer
The employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before your consular appointment. Ask your recruiter explicitly who owns that step and how long their legal team typically takes, since a delayed LCA certification pushes your start date.
Prepare for consular specialty-occupation scrutiny
Bring documentation showing your procurement role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific related field, not a general business background. A detailed offer letter specifying sourcing strategy, contract negotiation, and supplier risk duties strengthens your specialty-occupation case at the visa interview.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Procurement Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes, Procurement Manager positions qualify when the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a closely related field. The offer letter must describe duties that genuinely demand that specialized knowledge, such as strategic sourcing, supplier risk assessment, or category management, rather than general administrative purchasing tasks.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa differ from H-1B for procurement professionals?
The H-1B1 Singapore visa has no lottery, no USCIS petition filing, and a dedicated annual cap of 5,400 visas that has never been filled. You apply directly at the U.S. consulate in Singapore after your employer certifies an LCA with DOL. H-1B visa requires USCIS to approve a full petition and enters a lottery that rejects the majority of registrants. For Singaporean procurement professionals, H-1B1 is a faster, more predictable path.
How do I find employers who will sponsor an H-1B1 Singapore visa for a Procurement Manager role?
Migrate Mate lets you filter procurement job listings by employers with documented H-1B1 Singapore visa filing history, so you're targeting companies that have already navigated the consular process. Focusing on multinationals with Asia-Pacific supply chain operations also increases your chances, since they're more likely to value Singapore-based sourcing expertise and have internal immigration support.
What does the employer have to file before my H-1B1 Singapore visa interview?
Your employer must submit a Labor Condition Application to DOL and receive a certified LCA before you can apply at the consulate. The LCA certifies that your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for the procurement role in that location and that hiring you won't adversely affect similarly employed U.S. workers. There is no separate USCIS petition required.
Can I switch procurement employers after entering the U.S. on an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes, but your new employer must certify a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need to apply for a new H-1B1 visa at the consulate before or upon changing roles, since H-1B1 doesn't carry the USCIS portability protections that H-1B holders have under AC21. Plan the timing carefully with your new employer so there's no gap between your authorized employment end date and your new visa validity.
