H-1B1 Singapore Visa Systems Engineer Jobs
Systems Engineer jobs with H-1B1 Singapore visa sponsorship are a direct path to U.S. employment for Singaporean nationals. The H-1B visa1 has no lottery, a 5,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills, and consulate processing that bypasses USCIS petition filing, making sponsorship faster and more predictable than the H-1B visa route.

The Home Hardware team is looking for a highly motivated and creative Electrical Engineer to help define, prototype, and build the future of Apple home product concepts. In this 0-to-1 role, you will be at the forefront of early-stage product exploration, operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and user experience. You will work with a diverse, cross-functional team of mechanical engineers, software developers, and industrial designers to architect complex systems, spin up rapid proof-of-concept hardware, and evaluate the technologies that will enable entirely new, accessible, and intuitive experiences in our customers' personal spaces.
Description
As a Home Hardware System EE, you will be responsible for the electrical definition and rapid realization of early-stage concepts. Your day-to-day work will span high-level system architecture to hands-on bench-level prototyping. You will research and select novel sensors, compute modules, power electronics, and electromechanical technologies, driving the electrical architecture from a blank whiteboard to a fully functioning prototype. You will need to constantly balance performance, power, thermals, acoustic noise, and safety—ensuring our products bring surprise and delight to customers.
Responsibilities
- Defining end-to-end electrical architectures for novel systems
- Designing and building rapid proof-of-concept electronics, including schematic capture, component selection, and guiding PCB layout.
- Collaborating closely with Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Software and AIML teams to negotiate complex system trade-offs and integrate electronics seamlessly into physical models.
- Bringing up new prototype boards, debugging complex mixed-signal systems, and integrating edge compute, motor drivers, and high-bandwidth sensors (vision, audio, LiDAR, IMU).
- Evaluating and benchmarking new silicon, sensors, and power technologies from internal teams and external vendors.
- Writing basic bring-up code or scripts (C/C++ or Python) to validate hardware functionality before handing it off to core software teams.
- Fostering an inclusive and deeply collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are leveraged to solve deeply technical, unprecedented problems.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of industry experience in hardware design, specifically in rapid prototyping, architecture, or R&D environments.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals across digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power delivery (DC-DC) design.
- Proven experience in system-level architecture and component selection for embedded systems, consumer electronics, or electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration, microcontrollers/SoCs, and standard digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI, USB, PCIe).
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools (e.g., Cadence Concept/Allegro, Altium) and a solid understanding of PCB layout principles for signal integrity and power delivery.
- Extensive experience in a lab environment: board bring-up, debugging, and using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering or similar field
- Experience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring up

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Systems Engineer
Verify your degree field matches your role
The H-1B1 visa requires a specialty occupation tied directly to your degree. Systems engineering roles usually satisfy this, but if your degree is in a loosely related field, prepare documentation showing how your coursework maps to the position's technical requirements.
Search employers using OFLC Wage Search
Pull H-1B1 visa Labor Condition Application filings by occupation code for systems engineering roles. Employers who have filed before understand the process and are far less likely to withdraw an offer once they learn sponsorship is required.
Find H-1B1 sponsor employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified H-1B1 visa sponsorship history, so you're targeting employers who have already filed for Singaporean nationals rather than cold-pitching companies unfamiliar with the visa category.
Confirm the LCA covers your actual work location
If your systems engineering role involves client sites or multi-location deployments, your employer's Labor Condition Application must reflect each worksite. Mismatches between the LCA location and where you actually work are a common compliance issue that DOL audits flag.
Bring certified LCA documentation to your consulate interview
Unlike H-1B, the H-1B1 visa is adjudicated at the consulate without prior USCIS approval. Your employer's certified LCA and your offer letter are the core documents the consular officer reviews, so confirm both are finalized before scheduling.
Use O*NET to build your specialty occupation case
Look up the Systems Engineer occupation profile on O*NET and note the education and knowledge requirements it lists. This profile supports your employer's specialty occupation justification and can be included directly in the consulate application package.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Systems Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1?
Yes, systems engineering consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation because the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field. The key is that your job duties must align with your degree discipline. If your role spans multiple engineering functions, your employer should document the technical requirements in the LCA and offer letter to make the connection explicit.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa differ from H-1B for Systems Engineer roles?
The H-1B1 visa has no lottery and a 5,400-visa annual cap for Singaporeans that has never been exhausted, so you can apply any time of year rather than waiting for April registration. Processing happens at the U.S. consulate in Singapore rather than through USCIS, which removes the petition stage entirely. The trade-off is that H-1B1 status doesn't carry dual intent, so consular officers will assess your nonimmigrant intent at each renewal.
How do I find employers who have sponsored H-1B1 visas for Systems Engineers before?
Migrate Mate lets you search for jobs filtered by verified H-1B1 visa sponsorship history, so you can identify employers who have already navigated the LCA and consulate process for this visa category. Targeting companies with prior H-1B1 filings reduces the risk that an employer will decline to sponsor after you've advanced through interviews, since they already understand the compliance requirements.
Can my employer file an LCA for a Systems Engineer role if the work spans multiple states?
Yes, but the Labor Condition Application must list each worksite where you'll perform work, not just the company's headquarters. For systems engineers working across client sites or data centers in different states, your employer needs to file separate LCA postings for each location. DOL audits have flagged LCA location mismatches as a compliance violation, so confirm the worksite coverage before your consulate appointment.
How long does H-1B1 status last for a Systems Engineer, and can it be renewed?
Each H-1B1 visa is issued for up to one year and can be renewed at the consulate without a cap limitation, as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer in a specialty occupation. There's no maximum renewal count, so Singaporean systems engineers can continue renewing indefinitely through consulate visits. Your employer will need to file a new LCA for each renewal period.
