Healthcare Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a healthcare job in Los Angeles?
Focus your search on Los Angeles's large academic medical centers, county hospital system, and the dense network of specialty clinics in neighborhoods like Westwood, Downtown, and the San Fernando Valley. Candidates who tailor their application to patient population specifics, such as bilingual skills or experience with high-volume trauma settings, stand out in this market. Networking through local professional associations and community health fairs also opens doors that postings alone don't.
Which companies hire healthcares in Los Angeles?
Companies currently hiring healthcares in Los Angeles include Stantec, Taylor Design, and SCAN Health Plan, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Los Angeles employers range from large public health systems and university-affiliated hospitals to private urgent care groups and long-term care facilities scattered throughout the metro.
Are there remote healthcare jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though opportunities vary considerably by role since most hands-on clinical positions require on-site presence, while health informatics, medical coding, care coordination, and telehealth roles are commonly remote. About 68% of healthcare openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the city's growing digital health sector. Telehealth and administrative positions at Los Angeles-based health tech companies are the most consistently remote-friendly.
How can I get a healthcare job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is through certified nursing assistant or medical assistant roles at community health centers, federally qualified health centers in underserved neighborhoods, or large county facilities that run structured training programs. Los Angeles County's public health network and Kaiser Permanente's Southern California hub both hire entry-level support staff regularly. Volunteering at a local hospital and completing a clinical externship in the city dramatically strengthens local applications.
Which industries hire the most healthcares in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles healthcare roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Consulting & Professional Services, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The city's size, its large uninsured and underinsured population, and its concentration of research institutions and specialty care networks all drive sustained hiring across those sectors.
