Job Description
Math Teacher (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, or College Prep Math)
At KIPP Tulsa, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to inspire and challenge scholars in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, or College Prep Math. The ideal candidate will cultivate a love for mathematics, foster critical thinking, and develop problem-solving skills while maintaining high expectations for academic excellence and personal growth.
Instructional Delivery and Assessment
- Develop year-long, Oklahoma Academic Standards-based unit plans and lesson plans that meet the diverse learning needs of all scholars.
- Design and implement rigorous, student-centered lessons that emphasize mathematical reasoning, real-world application, and conceptual understanding.
- Utilize assessment data, including formative and summative assessments, to modify short- and long-term instructional plans, ensuring all scholars achieve academic success.
- Integrate mathematical tools, technology, and manipulatives to enhance student engagement and mastery of content.
- Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Academic and Cultural Support
- Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to build a culture of academic excellence, perseverance, and curiosity in math.
- Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with scholars and families to support academic and personal growth.
- Supervise and actively participate in daily school functions, including morning, lunch, and afternoon duties.
- Participate in school-wide events such as staff meetings, open houses, back-to-school nights, parent orientations, parent-teacher conferences, and PTO events.
- Develop individualized learning plans for scholars needing additional support and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
- Uphold professional responsibilities, including timeliness, consistency in meeting deadlines, and adherence to school policies and expectations.

Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Math from an accredited four-year college or university
- Master's in Math, preferred
- Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with required certification for subject and level assigned, if applicable*
- Demonstrated knowledge of the core subject area assigned
- Satisfactory outcome of a background check. Employees are responsible for a non-refundable fingerprinting fee (approximately $60).
*Applicants currently pursuing a certification may apply before certification is received. All certifications must be acquired and on file with KIPP Tulsa before the end of the first year of employment. *

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a Full-Time, 10-month teaching position.
Employees are eligible to participate in employer benefits including health, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability and participation in Oklahoma Teacher Retirement plans.
