Human Resources Associate Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a human resources associate job in Columbus?
Target Columbus's largest employment sectors: healthcare systems, public universities, insurance carriers, and state government agencies all maintain active HR departments and hire associates regularly. Jobs concentrate downtown, in the Easton area, and along the I-270 outer belt where corporate campuses cluster. Candidates with HRIS experience, specifically with systems common in healthcare or higher ed, and any exposure to benefits administration or recruiting coordination stand out in Columbus's market.
Which companies hire human resources associates in Columbus?
Companies currently hiring human resources associates in Columbus include Turner Construction Company, CCV, and Spectrum, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Columbus's mix of large healthcare networks, regional insurance firms, and state agency offices means there is a broad range of employer types and team sizes actively posting these roles.
Are there remote human resources associate jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though availability depends on the role, since HR associates who handle in-person onboarding, employee relations meetings, or benefits enrollment support are typically required on-site. About 25% of human resources associate openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Roles focused on HRIS data entry, recruiting coordination, and payroll processing are the most likely to offer remote or hybrid flexibility locally.
How can I get a human resources associate job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is through administrative or coordinator roles at large healthcare systems or state agencies, which often post entry-level HR support positions and promote from within. Columbus State Community College and Ohio State University both have workforce programs that connect students to local HR internships. Volunteering with a Columbus-area nonprofit to handle HR admin tasks and earning a SHRM-CP designation can also give candidates a concrete edge over other entry-level applicants.
