Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Level III NICU position in the Houston, TX area, requiring NRP certification and at least 1 year of NICU experience.

Details

• Level III NICU in a 42-bed unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratios: 1–3 patients per nurse for Level III acuity; 3–4 patients per nurse for Level II acuity
• Equipment used includes isolettes, OMNI beds, and phototherapy equipment
• EMR systems: Meditech and CPN
• Procedures performed include IV starts and PICC insertions (for trained clinicians)
• Floating to the newborn nursery may be required
• Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Occasional on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current NRP certification (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Additional Information

• STABLE certification is preferred
• Experience with central lines including UAC, UVC, Broviacs, and PICC lines is preferred
• A charge nurse and PCT support are present on both day and night shifts
• A resource nurse will be available on the unit
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Candidates who are team players and self-motivated are considered the best fit for this unit
