Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive ballet curricula tailored to various skill levels, from beginner to advanced, ensuring progressive skill development.
- Lead engaging dance classes that incorporate technical ballet training, choreography, and performance techniques.
- Foster a positive classroom environment by managing student behavior, encouraging creativity, and promoting respect among participants.
- Provide individualized feedback and coaching to help students improve their technique and performance skills.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors on special projects such as performances, recitals, or community outreach programs.
- Incorporate elements of theater experience, music appreciation, and creative arts into dance lessons to enrich the learning experience.
- Maintain detailed lesson plans, attendance records, and progress reports to monitor student development and communicate effectively with parents or guardians.
Experience
- Proven experience teaching ballet or other performing arts to diverse age groups, including youth programs teaching experience.
- Strong background in choreography, lesson planning, and curriculum development within the arts or dance fields.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies for working with children and early childhood education settings.
- Experience working with students with special needs or in special education environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and preschool experience enhances your ability to connect with young learners.
- Skills in photography or visual arts can be beneficial for documenting performances or creating promotional materials related to dance activities.
