Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Architect to help design, modernize, and evolve enterprise B2B/EDI integration platforms. The role shapes scalable, secure, and resilient integration solutions that support mission-critical business processes across Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows.
The role combines architecture and modernization work with day-to-day accountability for the health of existing platforms. Working closely with the Principal Architect and engineering leadership, this individual helps ensure current EDI environments meet business KPIs for availability, performance, transaction integrity, and partner experience, while advancing more scalable, automated, and AI-enabled designs.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in EDI and integration ecosystems, translates business objectives into practical designs, and communicates effectively with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evolve integration architecture for enterprise EDI/B2B platforms, balancing current-state stability with modernization and scalability.
- Translate business requirements into secure, resilient, high-performing designs across connectivity, transformation, and orchestration layers.
- Provide technical oversight for platform operations so systems consistently meet KPIs for availability, throughput, transaction integrity, and partner experience.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues across high-volume, mission-critical transaction flows.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives that reduce technical debt and enable API-led and event-driven integration patterns.
- Act as a hands-on subject matter expert for complex EDI/B2B scenarios, including partner onboarding, data exchange, and transaction lifecycle management.
- architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices, and participate in architecture and design reviews.
- Identify and implement automation and AI-led improvements that strengthen observability, efficiency, and decision-making across the platform.
- Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align designs with customer experience and growth goals, and mentor engineers on technical discipline and consistency.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- 8-12+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, with a strong focus on enterprise integration and EDI/B2B ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience across the EDI lifecycle, including partner onboarding, data transformation, connectivity protocols, and transaction orchestration.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems that process high-volume, mission-critical transactions.
- Working knowledge of modernization patterns, including cloud adoption, API-led, and event-driven integration.
- Solid grounding in operational excellence, covering system reliability, observability, performance optimization, and incident management.
- Exposure to automation and emerging AI capabilities that improve platform efficiency and scalability.
- Ability to influence technical direction and architectural decisions across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business messaging.
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to dive deep into system behavior and drive resolution in high-pressure scenarios.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting consistent technical practices across teams.

Integration Architect Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a integration architect in Texas?
Integration architect roles in Texas do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, followed by several years of hands-on integration development experience. Earning a vendor certification such as MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect or a Microsoft Azure Integration certification meaningfully strengthens a candidacy. Texas employers, particularly those in energy, finance, and healthcare, also value experience with enterprise-scale systems in their specific industries.
Which companies hire integration architects in Texas?
Employers hiring integration architects in Texas right now include Blue Yonder, Airbus, and Upwork, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of large enterprise headquarters in energy, financial services, and telecommunications means the state consistently generates openings at organizations with complex, multi-system integration needs.
Which Texas cities have the most integration architect jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Plano have the most integration architect openings in Texas. Dallas leads due to its dense concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, Houston's energy sector and large medical center complex drive sustained demand there, and Austin's fast-growing enterprise technology community anchors activity in the capital region.
Are there remote integration architect jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most technical fields. About 64% of integration architect openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the largely design-and-configuration nature of the work. Roles focused on architecture planning, API design, and documentation tend to be the most amenable to full remote arrangements, while positions that require coordinating live system cutovers or on-site stakeholder workshops are more likely to require some in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a integration architect in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a junior integration developer or middleware developer role, where you build hands-on experience with platforms such as MuleSoft or Azure before moving into architecture. Large Texas employers in healthcare IT and financial services regularly hire associate integration engineers as a feeder track. Earning an entry-level vendor certification and building a portfolio of personal or open-source integration projects gives candidates a concrete edge. Texas-based tech consulting firms also hire junior integration staff and train them on client engagements.
Where can I find and apply to integration architect jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to integration architect jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
