Integration Engineer Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a integration engineer in Indiana?
Integration engineer roles in Indiana do not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical experience. Most Indiana employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or a closely related field. Earning a vendor-recognized credential such as MuleSoft Certified Developer or an AWS certification strengthens a candidacy considerably. Building hands-on experience with integration tools through internships at Indiana manufacturers or healthcare organizations is the most direct route into full-time roles.
How much do integration engineers make in Indiana?
Integration engineers in Indiana earn a median of about $120,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,710 for the lowest 10% to over $163,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire integration engineers in Indiana?
Employers hiring integration engineers in Indiana right now include V2X, HCM, and Eli Lilly, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's concentration of pharmaceutical manufacturers, automotive suppliers, and large regional health systems means integration engineers frequently work on complex ERP-to-shop-floor or clinical-data connectivity projects.
Which Indiana cities have the most integration engineer jobs?
Indianapolis, Crane, and Evansville account for the largest share of integration engineer openings in Indiana. Indianapolis dominates because it hosts the state's densest cluster of corporate headquarters, health systems, and technology firms, while Fort Wayne and South Bend draw steady postings from their manufacturing and logistics employers, including several large automotive-parts suppliers and regional medical centers.
Are there remote integration engineer jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most technical fields. About 22% of integration engineer openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves configuring cloud-based platforms and writing connectors rather than being physically present at a facility. The most fully remote roles tend to involve pure software integration, such as API development and cloud middleware, while on-site or hybrid arrangements are more common when the work touches factory equipment or healthcare data centers.
How can I get hired as a integration engineer in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a rotational IT or systems associate program at a large Indiana employer. Companies like Eli Lilly, Cummins, and major Indiana health systems run new-graduate rotational programs that include integration and systems work. Candidates moving from adjacent roles such as database administrator, QA automation engineer, or IT business analyst are commonly considered. Building a portfolio of personal or academic integration projects using free-tier MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or open-source tools like Apache Camel gives hiring managers something concrete to evaluate.
Where can I find and apply to integration engineer jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to integration engineer jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings updated in real time. Search by city or specialization to narrow the results, then apply directly to the roles that match your experience and preferences. No signup is required to see or apply to the listings.
