About Pebble
At Pebble, we build technology that makes everyday life simpler, smarter, and more connected. We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply about craft. We’re looking for curious, driven engineers who want to do the best work of their careers alongside a team that holds the bar high.
The Role
As a Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll be at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world validation. You’ll work across disciplines to bring complex systems together, ensuring they perform reliably from bench to production. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own integration challenges end-to-end, collaborate with a tight-knit engineering team, and build the kind of technical depth that comes from working on hard problems.
What You’ll Do
- Integrate hardware and software subsystems, validating interfaces and ensuring end-to-end system functionality.
- Design, execute, and document integration test plans covering SIL, HIL, and physical validation.
- Analyze CAN bus and communication protocol data to diagnose and resolve integration issues.
- Write clean, maintainable scripts in Python to automate test workflows and process data.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation: wiring schematics, integration guides, test reports, and calibration procedures.
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to identify root causes and drive issues to resolution.
- Support continuous improvement of integration processes, tooling, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of professional or project experience in systems integration, controls engineering, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, LV/HV electronics, or embedded control systems.
- Proficiency in at least one of: Python, C, or C++.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Clear written and verbal communication — you can translate technical findings into plain language.
Bonus Points
- Experience with CAD tools (Catia, NX, or similar) for reviewing or creating component models.
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum workflows.
- Experience with Grafana or other data visualization tools.
How We Work
We believe great engineering comes from people who are trusted with ownership and supported to grow. You’ll have direct access to senior engineers and meaningful problems from day one. We value clear thinking, honest communication, and people who raise the bar for everyone around them.

What Employers Look For
The qualifications that appear most often in integration engineer jobs.
- Experience designing and building REST or SOAP API integrations between enterprise systems
- Proficiency with at least one iPaaS or middleware platform such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica
- Hands-on experience with ETL pipeline development and data transformation logic
- Familiarity with messaging and event-streaming tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field
- Experience working with EDI standards or ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday
Tips for Your Integration Engineer Job Search
Tailor your resume to system context
List the specific platforms and protocols you've connected, not just the tools you used. Recruiters scan for Kafka, MuleSoft, REST, or EDI alongside the business systems, like ERP or CRM, that you integrated them with.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists integration engineer openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Filter openings by integration stack
Search for job titles alongside the specific middleware or iPaaS platform a company uses. A posting for MuleSoft or Boomi experience signals a very different technical environment than one asking for custom microservices work.
Quantify the scale of past integrations
Describe your work in terms of data volume, number of connected systems, or uptime requirements you maintained. Hiring managers distinguish candidates who built a two-system proof of concept from those who ran production pipelines at scale.
Prepare a technical walkthrough for interviews
Most integration engineer interviews include a design exercise where you map a data flow between two systems. Practice drawing out data schemas, error-handling logic, and retry strategies on a whiteboard or shared screen before your interview.
Negotiate using the full scope of the role
Integration work often touches security, compliance, and infrastructure beyond the core job description. Document every system boundary you own and use that scope during offer discussions to justify compensation above the base range.
Integration Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most integration engineers?
The companies hiring the most integration engineers right now include Apple, GlobalFoundries, and Intel, with the largest share of openings in California, Texas, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is highest at companies undergoing large-scale digital transformation or cloud migration programs.
How many integration engineer jobs are remote?
About 19% of integration engineer openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting strong employer flexibility for technical roles that don't require on-site hardware access. API development and middleware configuration work tends to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to on-premises ERP or manufacturing systems more often require some on-site presence.
How do you become an integration engineer?
Start by building a strong foundation in software development, then focus specifically on systems connectivity by learning REST API design, data transformation formats like JSON and XML, and at least one iPaaS platform. Hands-on projects that connect two real systems, even personal ones, demonstrate practical skill. Certifications from MuleSoft or Dell Boomi signal platform-specific readiness to employers.
Can you get an integration engineer job with little or no experience?
Entry-level integration engineer roles exist, but they typically expect some exposure to APIs or scripting rather than a completely blank slate. Building a portfolio project that pulls data from a public API and loads it into a database, or completing a vendor certification like MuleSoft Developer Level One, gives hiring managers something concrete to evaluate even without professional experience.
What does the integration engineer interview process look like?
Most processes start with a recruiter screen, followed by a technical phone or video interview covering API concepts, data mapping, and error-handling patterns. A practical exercise, often a take-home or live system design session, asks you to model a data flow between two systems. Final rounds typically include a panel with engineering leads and sometimes a business stakeholder who owns one of the connected platforms.
Where can I find and apply to integration engineer jobs?
You can find and apply to integration engineer jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your stack and experience level, then apply directly to each one that fits.
