Entry Level Internal Auditor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level internal auditor job?
Start by earning a relevant degree in accounting, finance, or business, then pursue an internship or campus accounting role to build hands-on experience. Employers at this level look for familiarity with risk assessment concepts, basic data analysis, and attention to detail. Certifications like the CIA or CPA candidacy status signal commitment and give new candidates a clear edge over peers with similar experience.
Which companies hire entry level internal auditors?
Companies hiring entry level internal auditors right now include Humana, Twilio, and First Fed, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers large corporations with structured audit rotational programs, financial institutions, healthcare systems, and government contractors that regularly bring on junior auditors to support established internal audit teams.
Are there remote entry level internal auditor jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by employer and industry. About 48% of entry level internal auditor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid schedules being more common than fully remote since many employers want junior auditors on-site for training, mentorship, and fieldwork during their first months on the job.
Are these new grad internal auditor jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior internal auditor roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work in place of full-time history, or lists a degree as the primary qualification. Roles that mention a rotational program or structured onboarding are also strong signals for new grad candidates.
Which industries hire the most entry level internal auditors?
Entry Level internal auditor roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate under strict regulatory and compliance requirements, creating a steady pipeline of junior auditor openings for candidates who can support risk monitoring, controls testing, and documentation work.
