General Summary
Performs invasive radiographic procedures at an advanced skills level.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs interventional and endovascular procedures.
- Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
- Scrubs with physician as required.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations and/or surgical procedures.
- Positions and transfers patients comfortably.
- Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
- Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
- Performs duties as on call technologist.
- Trains new staff at a preceptor level of participation and provides orientation in all aspects of the role. Provides ongoing assessments of the training progress and provides summary reports.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.
- Maintains an organized and effective supply inventory. Serves as an expert with equipment and devices with regard to the equipment compatibility and safe use.
- Evaluates workflows and processes. Streamlines tasks through the use of Performance Improvement methodologies. Communicates ideas for improvement with the departmental leadership.
- Provides service recovery when required.
- Evaluates and communicates with the team. Identifies any operational needs on a daily basis.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- 2 years Relevant experience. Required
Licenses:
- Registered Technologist-Cardiac Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Technologist-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
- Registered Technologist-Vascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Courses and Training:
- Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in special procedures. Upon Hire Required
