Why does the job exist?
The Healthcare Surveyor / IMB Investigator will:
Conduct investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect or exploitation involving adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, who are served by Home and Community-Based providers under the Medicaid Developmental Disabilities Waiver, the Mi-Via (self-directed) Waiver and the Medically Fragile Waiver.
How does it get done?
The Healthcare Surveyor / IMB Investigator is responsible for:
- Conducting interviews of victims, witnesses, Interdisciplinary Team members, guardians, Case Managers, Consultants, therapist, and any other persons who may have information or knowledge of the alleged incident.
- Ensuring the health and safety of the alleged victim before and during the investigation, reviewing documentation, obtaining professional consultations and writing detailed investigative reports.

Minimum Qualification
Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and/or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting and in the field at community program sites. Out-of-state travel for training, and extensive statewide, with the occasional overnight travel is required. On-call duties may be required.
