Investment Analyst Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a investment analyst job in Los Angeles?
The strongest entry point in Los Angeles is targeting the city's private equity firms in Century City, real estate investment companies in Downtown LA, and entertainment-focused finance shops in West Hollywood. Candidates with CFA progress, financial modeling proficiency, and experience in real estate underwriting or media industry deal flow stand out. Networking through local CFA Society Los Angeles events and the LA chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth also opens doors that cold applications rarely do.
Which companies hire investment analysts in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles investment analyst roles are posted by JPMorganChase, Fox Corporation, and Netflix and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local market is shaped by a mix of large institutional asset managers, boutique private equity firms, real estate investment trusts, and entertainment conglomerates with in-house capital allocation teams, all concentrated in the Westside and Downtown corridors.
Are there remote investment analyst jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though it depends on the role: pure quantitative research and portfolio analysis positions are more remote-friendly, while deal-execution and client-facing roles at Los Angeles firms almost always require in-office presence. About 27% of investment analyst openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid schedules most common at mid-size asset managers headquartered in Century City and Westwood.
How can I get a investment analyst job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is landing a financial analyst or junior associate role at one of the city's real estate private equity or credit-focused boutiques, which hire more entry-level talent than the large institutional managers. Internships at entertainment finance divisions of major studios or at family offices in Bel Air and Beverly Hills also convert to full-time roles regularly. A CFA Level I completion and demonstrated Excel and Argus skills give candidates a meaningful edge over those without them.
Which industries hire the most investment analysts in Los Angeles?
The sectors hiring the most investment analysts in Los Angeles are Banking & Financial Services, Investment & Asset Management, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles's outsized real estate market, its unique entertainment and media capital base, and a growing cluster of fintech and private credit firms all sustain consistent local demand for analytical investment talent year-round.
