Investment Associate Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a investment associate job in Los Angeles?
The strongest entry points in Los Angeles are private equity and real estate investment firms in Century City and Downtown, venture capital shops in Santa Monica and West LA, and the wealth management arms of large financial institutions. Candidates with deal experience, financial modeling skills, and a CFA candidacy stand out in this market. Networking through local finance and real estate circles carries more weight in Los Angeles than in most other cities.
Which companies hire investment associates in Los Angeles?
Companies currently hiring investment associates in Los Angeles include JPMorganChase, Goldman Sachs, and Citi, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Los Angeles draws a mix of global asset managers, homegrown private equity and venture capital firms, and large real estate investment platforms, giving candidates a wide range of firm sizes and strategies to target.
Are there remote investment associate jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though remote availability is limited, since investment associate work typically involves in-person deal meetings, client interactions, and team collaboration. About 50% of investment associate openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Analytical and research-heavy portions of the role, such as financial modeling and market analysis, are most likely to be done off-site.
How can I get a investment associate job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is through a financial analyst or junior analyst role at a real estate investment or private equity firm, many of which hire recent graduates directly. Firms in Century City and Downtown frequently bring on entry-level analysts who rotate into associate roles within one to two years. Completing a CFA Level I exam, building a financial modeling portfolio, and pursuing internships at local family offices or boutique investment firms all improve a candidate's standing in this competitive market.
Which industries hire the most investment associates in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles investment associate roles concentrate in Investment & Asset Management, Banking & Financial Services, and Fintech, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The city's large entertainment and media economy, combined with its deep real estate market and growing technology sector, sustains consistent demand for investment professionals who understand asset-heavy and high-growth industries.
