iOS Developer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ios developer in Texas?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an ios developer in Texas, so the path runs through education and demonstrated skills. Most Texas employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering, though candidates who build a strong portfolio of App Store applications are regularly hired without one. Apple's own developer certifications and completion of accredited coding programs offered through Texas universities and community colleges strengthen applications considerably.
How much do iOS developers make in Texas?
IOS developers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ios developers in Texas?
Employers hiring ios developers in Texas right now include Adidev Technologies, Infosys, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of fintech headquarters, defense contractors, and large healthcare systems means ios developer roles here often carry product complexity and enterprise-scale requirements beyond typical consumer app work.
Which Texas cities have the most ios developer jobs?
Plano, Austin, and Dallas account for the greatest concentration of ios developer openings in Texas. Austin's density of technology companies and startups drives much of the volume, while Dallas draws demand from financial services and telecom giants headquartered in the Metroplex, and Houston's openings are anchored by energy technology firms and the Texas Medical Center's growing digital health divisions.
Are there remote ios developer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 40% of ios developer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how well the role's core work translates to distributed teams. Roles focused on greenfield app development and SDK integration tend to be the most fully remote, while positions requiring device lab access or on-site collaboration with hardware teams are more likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a ios developer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building and publishing at least one complete app to the App Store, which gives Texas hiring managers something concrete to evaluate. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and major Texas health systems regularly bring on junior developers through associate software engineer programs and internship-to-hire pipelines aimed at recent graduates. Adjacent roles such as QA engineer, mobile test engineer, or technical support specialist at a Texas software company are common lateral moves that provide the codebase familiarity hiring managers want before promoting into a full ios developer role.
Where can I find and apply to ios developer jobs in Texas?
