The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a curious, analytical, and self-driven Platform Solutions Engineer to join our Enterprise Platforms team. This isn't a traditional support role or one focused on mastering a single technology — it's about solving business problems by connecting systems, automating processes, and designing scalable technical solutions across cloud platforms, contact center systems, and enterprise applications.
You may be asked to solve a problem involving AWS, Amazon Connect, ServiceNow, Jira, a third-party SaaS platform, or a system you've never worked with before. You don't need to know every technology on day one. You do need to know how to learn, investigate, connect the dots, and determine the best path from a business requirement to a working technical solution.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally asks, "How can we make this better?" and can independently figure out how to make it happen.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Integration
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between enterprise applications using APIs, webhooks, middleware, and modern integration patterns.
- Develop and maintain serverless solutions on AWS, including planning and executing runtime upgrade and migration projects for deprecated services.
- Design and maintain Amazon Connect contact flows and routing logic across multiple markets and queues.
- Architect notification and messaging workflows to support customer- and agent-facing use cases such as availability alerts and status updates.
- Participate in the implementation and integration of new / existing enterprise platforms.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation and optimization, favoring reusable solutions over one-off fixes.
- Design and implement ServiceNow automations to enforce clean ticket lifecycle states, ITIL-aligned status transitions, and QA review processes.
- Design and implement AI-powered workflows and intelligent automation across business platforms, integrating AI services.
- Document architecture, workflows, and integration designs.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Platform Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Contact Center Operations, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Participate in solution design discussions and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, automation, systems integration, or a related technical field.
- Experience designing, building, deploying and integrating cloud-based applications and services using APIs.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Required Hardware and Software Competencies
You will primarily work with AWS, Amazon Connect, ServiceNow, Jira, and other enterprise platforms. Deep expertise in every technology is not expected on day one. Curiosity, problem-solving ability, and the ability to learn quickly are essential.

Platform Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a platform engineer in Texas?
Platform engineering in Texas has no state-issued license or registration requirement, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skill. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, though a strong portfolio of hands-on infrastructure work can substitute. Building experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling, then targeting entry-level or associate platform roles at Texas technology or financial services employers, is the most direct route.
Which companies hire platform engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring platform engineers in Texas right now include Apple, GEICO, and Speechify, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial technology firms, and large enterprise technology companies creates consistent demand for platform engineering talent across a range of industries.
Which Texas cities have the most platform engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Plano have the most platform engineer openings in Texas. Austin's dense concentration of technology company offices and startups drives the largest share of postings, while Dallas and Houston reflect demand from major financial services firms, energy companies, and enterprise technology operations headquartered or heavily staffed in those metros.
Are there remote platform engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 71% of platform engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally the work lends itself to distributed teams. Roles focused on cloud infrastructure management, CI/CD pipeline development, and internal developer platform tooling tend to be the most consistently offered as remote positions.
How can I get hired as a platform engineer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a related role such as systems administrator, DevOps engineer, or site reliability engineer, where you already manage infrastructure or automate deployments. Large Texas technology employers and financial institutions such as Dell, USAA, and American Airlines run associate or new-grad engineering programs that accept candidates without dedicated platform experience. Building a public portfolio of Terraform configurations, Kubernetes clusters, or CI/CD pipelines on GitHub and earning an AWS or GCP associate certification gives a Texas candidate a concrete edge at the application stage.
Where can I find and apply to platform engineer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to platform engineer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
