Quality Assurance Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance engineer in Texas?
Most quality assurance engineer roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Texas does not mandate a state-issued license for the role, but industry certifications carry real weight with employers: the ASQ Certified Quality Engineer credential is widely recognized across Texas manufacturing, aerospace, and medical device sectors. Candidates in software QA often pursue ISTQB certification alongside a portfolio of automation work to compete for technical roles.
Which companies hire quality assurance engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring quality assurance engineers in Texas right now include Apple, Amazon, and Photon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace primes, semiconductor fabs, and FDA-regulated medical device manufacturers means quality engineering roles appear regularly across both large corporations and their regional supplier networks.
Which Texas cities have the most quality assurance engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Plano have the most quality assurance engineer openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth draws heavy demand from aerospace, defense, and telecom employers with large North Texas campuses, Austin's semiconductor and software industry drives significant software QA hiring, and Houston's energy, medical, and manufacturing base sustains steady demand for quality engineers across regulated industries.
Are there remote quality assurance engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most engineering fields, particularly on the software side. About 14% of quality assurance engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role can be performed through digital tools, test environments, and collaboration platforms. Roles focused on software test automation and QA analysis tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while positions in physical manufacturing or regulated medical and aerospace environments typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance engineer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a QA technician or associate quality engineer role, which large Texas manufacturers and contract electronics firms hire at the associate level without requiring prior QA-specific experience. Companies like Texas Instruments and medical device employers in the Austin and Dallas corridors run new-graduate programs that place candidates directly into quality functions. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential before applying gives early-career candidates a measurable edge, and candidates from adjacent roles in manufacturing, lab testing, or technical support frequently transition successfully into junior QA positions.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries including aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, software, and manufacturing. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly.
