Cloud software engineering in Texas has no state-issued license or registration requirement, so the path centers on education and verified credentials. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, though strong candidates also come from bootcamps and associate pathways. Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Developer carry real weight with Texas hiring managers and are worth prioritizing early.
How much do cloud software engineers make in Texas?
Cloud software engineers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire cloud software engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring cloud software engineers in Texas right now include Apple, Amazon, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's dense concentration of technology firms, defense contractors, and Fortune 500 headquarters means openings appear consistently across a wide range of industries, from financial services and energy to healthcare and enterprise software.
Which Texas cities have the most cloud software engineer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Plano have the most cloud software engineer openings in Texas. Austin's tech ecosystem, anchored by major cloud and SaaS companies, drives the highest volume, while Dallas attracts large enterprise and financial-sector employers, and Houston's energy and healthcare industries generate steady demand for cloud infrastructure roles at scale.
