Solutions Architect Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions architect in Texas?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a solutions architect in Texas. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering combined with several years of hands-on infrastructure or software experience. Earning a recognized vendor certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, is the most direct way to meet Texas employers' baseline requirements and stand out in a competitive applicant pool.
Which companies hire solutions architects in Texas?
Employers hiring solutions architects in Texas right now include Apple, Bain & Company, and Molex, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large defense contractors, and major financial institutions means demand is broad and not limited to any single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most solutions architect jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most solutions architect openings in Texas. Austin's dense tech sector, Dallas's large concentration of corporate headquarters and financial firms, and Houston's energy and healthcare industries all generate consistent demand, while the suburban corridors around each metro, particularly the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, add significant volume from regional offices and technology campuses.
Are there remote solutions architect jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 31% of solutions architect openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how central design, consulting, and documentation work is to the role. The most fully remote positions tend to be client-facing pre-sales or cloud advisory roles, while implementations and on-site integrations with enterprise infrastructure still require regular in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a solutions architect in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a solutions architect role from a technical adjacent position such as systems administrator, cloud engineer, DevOps engineer, or network analyst. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies, Deloitte's Texas practices, and major healthcare systems regularly post associate or junior architect roles that accept candidates transitioning from infrastructure support or developer backgrounds. Earning an entry-level cloud certification, building a portfolio of architecture diagrams or capstone projects, and targeting pre-sales or associate solutions engineer titles are the concrete steps that open the door.
Where can I find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to solutions architect jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly without creating a profile or signing up first.
