IT Architect Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a it architect in Arizona?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an it architect in Arizona, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most Arizona employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, combined with several years of hands-on engineering or systems experience. Earning a vendor-neutral certification such as TOGAF or a cloud-specific credential from AWS, Microsoft, or Google is the most direct way to qualify for architect-level roles at Arizona's larger employers.
How much do IT architects make in Arizona?
IT architects in Arizona earn a median of about $105,240 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $52,450 for the lowest 10% to over $166,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it architects in Arizona?
Employers hiring it architects in Arizona right now include Koch, WillScot, and Honeywell, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's concentration of financial services firms, large healthcare systems, and federal contractors creates consistent year-round demand for experienced architects at multiple seniority levels.
Which Arizona cities have the most it architect jobs?
Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe have the most it architect openings in Arizona. Phoenix generates the largest share driven by its headquarters density across banking, insurance, and healthcare, while Scottsdale and Tempe add volume through major corporate campuses and technology-focused employers that have expanded their Arizona footprints over the past decade.
Are there remote it architect jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of it architect openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves design, documentation, and cross-team collaboration that translates well to distributed environments. Cloud architecture and enterprise integration roles in particular tend to offer the most location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a it architect in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a systems administrator, network engineer, or software developer role into an associate architect or solutions engineer position. Large Arizona employers such as Banner Health, Intel, and major financial services firms running Phoenix operations regularly bring in technical candidates from adjacent roles and develop them internally. Building a portfolio of architecture diagrams and documented design decisions, combined with an entry-level cloud certification, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to those bridge roles.
Where can I find and apply to it architect jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to it architect jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and location preferences, and apply directly to each listing without needing to create a profile first.
