IT Architect Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an it architect in Florida?
Most it architects in Florida enter the field through a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, followed by several years in systems administration, network engineering, or software development roles. Florida does not require a state-issued license for it architects, but employers across the state consistently expect credentials such as TOGAF certification or a cloud vendor credential from AWS, Microsoft, or Google. Building a portfolio of enterprise architecture projects and gaining experience in a Florida industry vertical like healthcare or financial services accelerates hiring significantly.
How much do IT architects make in Florida?
IT architects in Florida earn a median of about $105,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $52,960 for the lowest 10% to over $173,260 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it architects in Florida?
Employers hiring it architects in Florida right now include Boston Consulting, NCH, and Jabil, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of defense contractors, major hospital systems, and financial institutions means demand is spread across both private-sector corporations and large public-sector technology programs statewide.
Which Florida cities have the most it architect jobs?
Miami, Naples, and Brandon have the most it architect openings in Florida. Miami's concentration of financial services firms and multinational headquarters drives demand in the south, while Orlando's defense contracting and simulation technology sector and Tampa's growing cybersecurity and healthcare IT industry account for most openings in the central and west coast corridors of the state.
Are there remote it architect jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 0% of it architect openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the largely desk-based, consultative nature of the role. Cloud architecture and enterprise application design are the specialties most commonly offered with full remote flexibility, while data center infrastructure and on-premises integration roles tend to require at least partial on-site presence.
How can I get hired as an it architect in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an it architect role from a systems administrator, network engineer, or DevOps position at a Florida employer, where you can demonstrate infrastructure decision-making before holding the title formally. Large Florida healthcare systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida and defense-adjacent contractors in the Orlando area often hire associate or junior architects from internal IT teams. Earning a TOGAF Foundation certification or a cloud associate credential while in a supporting role signals readiness and is a consistent differentiator in Florida hiring decisions.
Where can I find and apply to it architect jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to it architect jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly from the listing.
