About us
Pliancy is fundamentally changing the way businesses value technology. We're on a mission to prove that the right technology (and the right technologists) can help accelerate progress toward radical, ambitious goals. Pliancy specializes in partnering with life sciences organizations, capital management firms, and emerging startups, providing IT support to bold leaders pushing science and technology forward.
Our employees and clients find that we're starkly different from other IT organizations because we challenge the status quo in two major ways: by putting people first in every decision we make, and by innovating towards simplicity every chance we get. As a people-first company that invests in the long-term success of our employees, we're looking for creative thinkers who like to solve interesting problems. We prioritize curiosity and empathy in all of our hiring decisions.
About the Role
What's an average day like?
The clients you'll work with are capital management firms (likely venture capital, private equity, or hedge funds). Pliancy prides itself on working with clients who respect our team and expertise. You will typically be integrated with your assigned client(s), focusing on meeting their IT operational needs. You'll get to solve interesting, important challenges in collaboration with teammates who have a passion for technology and helping people. If you love innovating, building relationships, and socializing with fellow team members, you'll love our culture.
A typical week is a mix of four-hour and eight-hour scheduled site visits consulting with your primary clients, researching solutions, implementing projects, using technology to improve processes and workflows, improving documentation, training users, and responding to ad-hoc requests. When not scheduled at your clients' sites, you may drop in at the local office to collaborate with a coworker on pending issues. The remainder of the time is spent with the team on internal solutions, special projects, ticket escalations, and learning new technologies.
Who are we looking for?
You are passionate about technology and love learning new things. You're an attentive, curious person who loves connecting with the people you support and working in a team environment. To you, clients are people, not just ticket numbers or cases to solve; you build relationships and, as a by-product, you build trust. Few things make you feel better at the end of a workday than helping your team work swiftly and efficiently toward a common goal. You look out for your clients and colleagues, and they're grateful for your responsiveness. You enjoy solving business problems through the clever use of emerging technologies, often pioneering the adoption of new tools.

IT Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a it consultant in Texas?
IT consulting in Texas requires no state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field alongside vendor or project management certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Most candidates build experience through roles in IT support, systems administration, or business analysis before moving into consulting. Texas's large enterprise employers in energy, financial services, and healthcare tend to value demonstrated project delivery over credentials alone.
Which companies hire it consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring it consultants in Texas right now include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Boston Consulting, and Alvarez & Marsal, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major energy and financial services firms creates consistent demand for consultants with enterprise technology and ERP expertise.
Which Texas cities have the most it consultant jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most it consultant openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters and professional services firms, while Houston's energy sector drives demand for infrastructure and cybersecurity consultants, and Austin's rapidly expanding technology industry generates openings across cloud, SaaS, and digital transformation projects.
Are there remote it consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 17% of it consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and advisory nature of the role. Strategy, architecture, and program management engagements are most commonly offered remotely, while implementation and on-site integration projects typically require a physical presence at client locations.
How can I get hired as a it consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an IT support, helpdesk, or business analyst role at a large Texas employer, then transitioning internally into a consulting or advisory function. Firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and KPMG run analyst and associate programs out of their Dallas and Houston offices that accept recent graduates. Earning an entry-level certification such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or an AWS Cloud Practitioner credential significantly strengthens a candidate's profile when applying for junior consulting roles in Texas.
Where can I find and apply to it consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to it consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly.
