Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Data Migration Specialist to lead and execute complex data migration projects. In this role, you will be responsible for transitioning file shares, SharePoint environments, and OneDrive data to modern cloud infrastructures. Utilizing a wave-based approach and industry-leading tooling, you will ensure seamless, secure, and fully compliant cutovers. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 9 years of experience in data migration, strong scripting abilities, and a proven track record of maintaining data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Migration Execution: Lead and execute the migration of legacy file shares, SharePoint (on-premises and online), and OneDrive environments using a structured, wave-based approach.
- Tooling & Automation: Utilize enterprise migration platforms (specifically Quest Migration) and develop custom scripts to automate data transfer, synchronization, and reporting processes.
- Validation & Integrity: Perform rigorous pre- and post-migration data validation to ensure all files, permissions, and metadata are accurately transferred without data loss.
- Delta Sync Management: Plan and execute delta syncs to capture changes made during the migration window, minimizing business disruption and downtime.
- Remediation & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify migration errors or bottlenecks, performing necessary remediation and troubleshooting to ensure a clean, fully compliant cutover.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to schedule migration waves, communicate progress, and ensure a smooth transition for end-users.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or systems administration with a heavy focus on enterprise data migrations.
- Platform Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and complex legacy File Share environments.
- Migration Tools: Proven experience utilizing Quest Migration tools (or equivalent enterprise-grade migration software).
- Data Validation: Strong background in data validation methodologies, ensuring security, compliance, and structural integrity of migrated data.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate administrative tasks, map permissions, and streamline the migration process.

- Experience working in large-scale, enterprise-level environments.
