The New Mexico Department of Health works in many ways to promote, preserve and protect the health of New Mexico residents. The ITSD supports many programs within DOH all of which provide some of the most requested and important services we provide to our customers.
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position within the ADSB team in the Information Technology Services Division will be to serve as the IT Application Support role for the New Mexico Department of Health. To support various IT applications within the ADSB applications portfolio.
How does it get done?
The key responsibilities of this position are as follows -
1. Application Development, Maintenance, Enhancement and Support of the various COTS and Web-based Applications systems within the ADSB Bureau.
2. Provide support and assist various Clinical applications such as Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and In-house developed Web-based custom systems for the New Mexico Department of Health.
3. Development of Reports and data feeds to and from the applications.
4. Follow Industry standard Development and Application Support processes and methodologies.
5. Liaise and communicate (verbal and written) - with Customers, Vendors and ADSB Management.
6. Other tasks include - Status Reporting, Testing, Training, Documentation, etc.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Working conditions can be described as follows -
- Work is performed in an Office setting
- Verbal and written communication with the Users of the systems at the Facilities
- Exposure to Visual/ Video Display Terminal (VDT)
- Extensive personal computer and Telephone usage with extended periods of sitting
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
