Entry Level Licensed Mental Health Professional Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level licensed mental health professional job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for completed clinical hours, a relevant master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field, and an active or pending state licensure. Candidates who stand out typically bring supervised practicum experience, familiarity with a common therapy modality such as cognitive behavioral therapy, and strong documentation skills. Targeting community mental health centers, group practices, and nonprofits gives new graduates the best first-role opportunities.
Which companies hire entry level licensed mental health professionals?
Companies hiring entry level licensed mental health professionals right now include US Department of Veterans Affairs, LifeStance Health, and MultiCare Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from community behavioral health organizations, outpatient clinics, school systems, and hospital-affiliated practices that have the supervision infrastructure to support early-career clinicians.
Are there remote entry level licensed mental health professional jobs?
Yes, though remote availability varies by state licensure portability rules. About 15% of entry level licensed mental health professional openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the growth of telehealth platforms and virtual outpatient services that actively recruit new clinicians who are comfortable delivering care over video.
Are these new grad licensed mental health professional jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior licensed mental health professional roles alongside other entry level postings. A new-grad-friendly listing typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internship or practicum hours toward requirements, or explicitly invites candidates who are working toward full licensure under supervision rather than requiring an already-licensed professional.
Which industries hire the most entry level licensed mental health professionals?
Entry Level licensed mental health professional roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate large caseloads, receive public funding tied to staffing minimums, and have established supervision frameworks that make it practical to bring on early-career clinicians.
