- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on steering, braking, suspension, and drivetrain systems to ensure peak vehicle performance.
- Execute complex electrical and HVAC repairs, utilizing modern diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues accurately.
- Conduct thorough preventative maintenance inspections and test drives to verify that all repairs meet safety and compliance standards.
- Support major component rebuilds, including engines and transmissions, while collaborating with senior staff on complex projects.
- Document all maintenance activities, including parts usage and labor time, to maintain accurate fleet records.
- Provide emergency road-side assistance and on-the-road repairs as necessary to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that adheres to all regulatory and company safety protocols.
- Proactively identify and report additional maintenance needs or signs of vehicle abuse to leadership.
Required Skills
- 2-4 years of professional experience in medium or heavy-duty fleet maintenance.
- Strong technical proficiency in diesel and gasoline engine systems, electrical troubleshooting, and AC repair.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic data and make sound mechanical decisions.
- Must possess a personal set of hand tools appropriate for a diesel technician.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
Preferred Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- ASE Certifications in relevant vehicle systems.
- Specific experience maintaining Ford commercial vehicle platforms.
