As a Maintenance Technician at Holiday Inn Express - Wilmington Medical District, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. Your role will involve performing routine and emergency repairs, managing preventive maintenance programs, and addressing any facility-related issues to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will be skilled in various trades, proactive, and dedicated to providing high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel’s facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including checking HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting:
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues reported by guests or staff, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry problems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to restore functionality.
- Facility Upkeep:
- Assist with the installation and replacement of fixtures, fittings, and equipment as needed.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed to high standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and hotel policies.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that materials are stored properly.
- Assist with ordering and purchasing of supplies as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completed repairs, preventative maintenance, inventory usage, and any issues or concerns.
- Provide regular reports to the General Manager or other designated personnel regarding maintenance status and needs.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and front desk, to coordinate maintenance activities and address any facility-related concerns.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role within the hospitality or facilities management industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
