Electrical Maintenance Technician / Controls Technician

About the Opportunity

TMG & Haartz Solutions is building a new advanced manufacturing operation in Bostic, NC, and we are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician / Controls Technician to join us during this exciting early stage.

As one of our first key maintenance hires, you will have the opportunity to do more than maintain equipment, you will help build the maintenance program, establish best practices, improve equipment reliability, and help shape the future of the facility.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced electrical and controls professional who enjoys troubleshooting, solving problems, and working closely with engineering and production. As the operation grows, this position offers the opportunity for increased technical responsibility and future leadership growth.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, controls, and production equipment.
• Identify root causes of electrical and equipment failures using voltmeters, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.
• Install, maintain, and repair motors, VFDs/drives, relays, sensors, contactors, transformers, lighting, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with controls and automation-related issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, panel layouts, and technical manuals.
• Troubleshoot control panels, instrumentation, safety circuits, and industrial automation systems.
• Specify, size, and recommend electrical components and replacement equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Partner with engineering and production teams on equipment improvements, upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Use CMMS and computer-based systems to document work orders, repairs, troubleshooting activities, and equipment history.
• Support maintenance planning, equipment reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Help establish maintenance procedures, technical standards, and best practices as the facility grows.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced maintenance team members.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and company requirements.
• Support production needs, including occasional off-shift, weekend, or emergency maintenance when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–7+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and controls systems.
• Ability to independently diagnose electrical and equipment problems.
• Experience using voltmeters and other electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience with industrial automation and controls.
• Experience with CMMS or computerized maintenance systems.
• Experience with VFDs/drives, motors, sensors, relays/contactors, transformers, control circuits, and industrial power distribution.
• Experience specifying, sizing, and selecting electrical components.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other maintenance personnel.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• This is an on-site manufacturing position in Bostic, NC.
• Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
• Ability to work from ladders and at elevated heights.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Work around industrial machinery, electrical systems, moving equipment, noise, heat, humidity, and varying temperatures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all plant safety procedures.
