Hiring: IT Consultant – Project Governance & Portfolio Management
Location: Columbus, OH - 100% Onsite
Job Type: Long-term Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Consultant to support enterprise project governance, project portfolio management, and strategic IT initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned project management professional with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and governance experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT project governance policies and best practices.
- Manage and administer the agency's IT project portfolio to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead requirements gathering and business analysis by working closely with business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to agency project managers.
- Monitor project and portfolio performance, identify risks, and provide regular status updates to the CIO and executive leadership.
- Independently manage multiple IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion.
- Foster strong business relationships and ensure effective communication across technical and business teams.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies, principles, and best practices.
- Proven experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing project governance frameworks and administering project portfolios.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for complex IT projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working within a government or public-sector environment.
- Familiarity with PMO processes, portfolio management, and executive reporting.
- Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar.
