Role Description
The Project Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Cleveland, OH, responsible for leading complex mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role oversees project strategy, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contractual compliance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope. The Project Executive mentors project managers and teams, coordinates with internal engineering, construction, and service groups, and builds strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders. Day-to-day work includes reviewing project performance, approving major scopes and changes, supporting bid and proposal efforts, and resolving critical project issues. The role also contributes to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting key pursuits, and representing Harris in the local market.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading large mechanical or construction projects, with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Strong client relationship management skills, including stakeholder communication, negotiation, and issue resolution.
- Proficiency with project planning and management tools, cost control, and forecasting processes.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop project teams and collaborate effectively across engineering, construction, and service functions.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, risk management, change management, and claims mitigation.
- Knowledge of safety standards and commitment to a strong safety culture on all job sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to internal and external audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in mechanical contracting or building systems on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects is highly beneficial.
- Ability to travel locally to project sites and partners as required.
