Project Executive Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project executive in Texas?
Most project executives in Texas reach the role by combining a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or business with years of progressively senior project management experience. While Texas does not require a state-issued license for the project executive title itself, construction-side roles often expect a Texas-recognized contractor license or a Project Management Professional credential. Large Texas employers typically promote from senior project manager positions after candidates demonstrate consistent delivery of complex, high-value projects.
Which companies hire project executives in Texas?
Employers hiring project executives in Texas right now include Amazon, Walmart, and IDEA Public Schools, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's size and economic diversity mean openings appear across construction, energy infrastructure, healthcare systems, and enterprise technology, so the employer mix tends to reflect whichever sector is in an active growth or capital-investment cycle.
Which Texas cities have the most project executive jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin hold the most project executive openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its energy, petrochemical, and large-scale commercial construction industries, while Dallas and Austin draw openings through corporate headquarters, technology campuses, and healthcare expansion projects that require experienced executive-level program oversight.
Are there remote project executive jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Project executives typically oversee on-site teams, vendor relationships, and physical or operational deliverables that require regular in-person presence. About 20% of project executive openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those tend to cluster in technology program management or enterprise software implementation roles where the work is less tied to a physical location.
How can I get hired as a project executive in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a project coordinator or assistant project manager role at a large Texas-based contractor or corporate real estate group, such as those operating in Houston's energy corridor or the Dallas-Fort Worth construction market. Employers like Turner Construction and Jacobs run structured associate and development programs that move candidates from coordinator into manager tracks. Earning a PMP credential early and building experience managing smaller scopes or single-discipline projects accelerates the path toward an executive-level role.
Where can I find and apply to project executive jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to project executive jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find roles that match your experience level and target industry, then apply directly through each listing without creating a profile or signing up first.
