Customer Program Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer program manager in Texas?
Start with a bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or communications, which most Texas employers treat as a baseline. There is no state-issued license required for this role in Texas, but earning a Project Management Professional certification through PMI or a Certified Scrum Master credential meaningfully strengthens candidacy. Large Texas employers in tech and financial services also value prior experience in customer success, account management, or IT project coordination as a direct pathway into the role.
Which companies hire customer program managers in Texas?
Employers hiring customer program managers in Texas right now include Lockheed Martin, Apple, and Baylor Scott & White Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in Dallas-Fort Worth and major enterprise tech campuses in Austin means openings appear consistently year-round across both software companies and large corporate customers managing complex vendor programs.
Which Texas cities have the most customer program manager jobs?
Austin, Arlington, and Dallas have the highest concentration of customer program manager openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth dominates because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and regional offices in financial services, telecom, and healthcare IT, while Austin's booming technology sector drives strong demand there, and Houston's energy and logistics industries support a steady pipeline of enterprise program management roles.
Are there remote customer program manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Customer program management is largely desk-based, communication-driven work that translates well to distributed environments. About 80% of customer program manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Texas employers have adopted flexible work arrangements since the shift in enterprise operations. Client onboarding, program reporting, and recurring check-ins are the duties most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a customer program manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a customer-facing role such as customer support specialist, account coordinator, or implementation analyst, all of which appear regularly at Texas-based employers in software and financial services. Companies like Dell Technologies and large Dallas-area financial institutions run associate program manager rotational tracks that accept candidates without direct program management experience. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying gives early-career candidates a measurable edge in Texas screening processes.
