A Production Manager at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Production team supporting efforts to ensure smooth and efficient operations of all production processes while ensuring team member safety and product quality. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing schedules, and identifying and resolving challenges and is ideal for someone who is highly organized, a problem-solver, and an excellent communicator.
Key Responsibilities

Production Planning and Coordination:
- Develop schedules and capacity requirements to achieve shipment goals.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
- Identify and communicate customer requirements to team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure company goals are achieved.

Operational Efficiency and Improvement:
- Maximize productivity and minimize product loss by improving production capabilities with cross-training programs.
- Monitor efficiency on the production floor and create strategic plans to improve plant operations.
- Identify and resolve process challenges as they arise.
- Monitor plant expenditures and budgets.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Meet on-time delivery, quality objectives, and shipment targets.
- Ensure production reporting is accurate and timely, including weights and lot tracing information.
- Maintain vendor relationships by meeting performance standards.

Safety, Training, and Vendor Management:
- Ensure adequate training is provided for team members in specific work tasks to reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries.
- Ensure that team members work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensure H.A.C.C.P. AND S.S.O.P.’S are met while ensuring standards of sanitation and product handling.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
What you bring to Pacific Seafood
Education and Experience
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university
- LEAN/Six Sigma
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Knowledge of HACCP, SOP’s and COOL Act
- ERP/AS400 Knowledge
- Bilingual
Physical Requirements

- Must be available to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to watch and react to changing situations, to ensure safety.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to use hands and fingers to carefully complete tasks and skillful actions, making sure to pay close attention to details and accuracy.
- Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
- Capable of working and communicating in loud environments, while focusing on tasks.
- Capable of training in using specialized tools and equipment pertinent to operations.
- Capable of solving simple math equations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
