Director of Partnerships & Market Development - South Houston
About Putts
Putts is one of the original and most recognizable mobile mini golf companies in the U.S., delivering high-end setups for weddings, corporate events, private parties and more. We’ve built strong, proven markets in multiple cities and have partnered with major brands, sports organizations, and corporate clients nationwide. We are now rapidly expanding across the country, with Houston as our next flagship market. This is a new territory, not a new company.
The Role (Immediate Focus)
We’re looking for someone to lead the development of the Houston market by building strategic relationships and creating long-term opportunities.
This is not a passive networking role, it’s about intentionally getting Putts in front of the right people, developing partnerships, and creating a steady pipeline of business opportunities.
You will serve as the face of Putts in Houston, but more importantly, you will be responsible for how the brand is introduced, positioned, and integrated into the local ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify and connect with key decision-makers across corporate clients (primarily), event planners, venues, and more
- Build and manage long-term relationships that generate consistent booking opportunities
- Attend events strategically to create visibility and open doors for partnerships
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities within the Houston market
- Represent the brand in a professional, confident, and engaging way
- Provide market feedback and help shape local growth strategy
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience building relationships that lead to business opportunities
- Strong understanding of how to develop and maintain professional networks
- Ability to think strategically about where opportunities come from and how to access them
- Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of outcomes
- Highly proactive , you don’t wait for direction, you create momentum
- Committed and reliable: not looking for a short-term role
- Comfortable with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Important to Know
- This is not a desk job, you’ll be active in the Houston market
- This role requires consistent presence in networking and event environments
- You will be the face of Putts in Houston, how you show up and who you connect with matters
- Success in this role is measured by relationships built and opportunities created
Compensation
- Set base pay plus additional performance-based commission opportunities
- Base provides consistency, with strong upside tied to results
- This role starts part-time with opportunity to grow as the market develops
Additional Perks
- Event entry and related expenses covered while representing Putts and building relationships
Why This Role is Different
You’re not joining a startup, you’re helping expand an established, proven brand into a key market.
This is an opportunity to take a leading role in developing a territory, with the autonomy to build meaningful relationships and shape long-term growth.
Pay: Up to $4,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person

Market Development Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a market development manager job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's dominant hiring sectors: energy services, medical devices and life sciences, industrial distribution, and B2B technology. Employers in the Energy Corridor and Texas Medical Center district are particularly active. Candidates with experience managing channel partners, distributor networks, or geographic territory expansion stand out in this market. Attending Houston-area industry events in oil and gas or healthcare also opens doors that online applications alone do not.
Which companies hire market development managers in Houston?
Houston market development manager roles are posted by Medtronic, Direct Auto, and Bank of America and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's hiring mix skews heavily toward energy services firms, midstream operators, large hospital systems, and regional distribution companies rather than the consumer-tech employers that dominate other major metros.
Are there remote market development manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though market development manager work is less remote-friendly than purely analytical roles because it typically involves territory visits, trade events, and in-person partner meetings. About 81% of market development manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with the remote share highest for roles focused on strategy, reporting, or national account coordination rather than field-level territory development.
How can I get a market development manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through a business development representative or sales operations role at an energy services, industrial distribution, or healthcare company, then moving laterally into market development once you have territory or account experience. Houston employers such as large oilfield services firms and regional distributors regularly hire entry-level commercial roles that feed into market development. A bachelor's degree in business or engineering and familiarity with Houston's industrial corridors give candidates a measurable edge over generalists.
Which industries hire the most market development managers in Houston?
The sectors hiring the most market development managers in Houston are Law & Legal Services and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Houston's outsized energy and medical complex, combined with one of the largest port and logistics networks in the country, makes those sectors the primary engines of local market development hiring.
